Over 2 billion streams across catalogue. Alan Walker, Steve Aoki, Jonas Brothers, G-Dragon, Anderson Paak, Illenium etc…
Hi, my name is Sander Meland. 29 years old, born and live in Norway.
I’ve been living off music for the past 11 years.
I started off as an artist in norway, later on expanding to Japan and had some success over there.
I’ve always preferred being behind the scenes and write for others, and now i want to expand my horizon!
I prefer producing and writing toplines, and to a big extent i do a lot of my mixes and masters myself…
I am versatile and love to try new stuff and genres.

Interview with youland
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I did a norwegian song that was the 2nd most streamed song in the country in 2022. It’s over 6 times platinum at this moment if i’m not mistaken.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Secret!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Not that i know of…
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both, best of both worlds!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: You won’t pay anything if you hate it.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Meeting people, hearing their stories and dreams.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That just because i’m fast doesn’t mean it’s cheaper. I’ve worked hard to be fast, and that’s a big part of my skillset.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are you aiming for. What’s your references.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: I’m flexible. I’m easy to communicate with, and i am very diverse in what i can do. As well as being very honest during the process!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Macbook, Mouse, Apollo x4, Sm7b, Headset
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started out as an artist. Signed as a producer/songwriter with a label in 2019, so i’ve primarily focused on that part. I have been doing this for 12 years roughly, and been living of music for 11 years!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Depends, but i love melancholic vibes. But if it feels good i like it. I’m confident in my taste.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Jon Bellion. My favorite songwriter and artist of all time. I’ve been a fan of him since 2015 and he has been my number 1 since.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don’t overthink. I’ve found the worst part of my career was learning too much in a short amount of time. I was suddenly aware of stuff that shouldn’t matter too much, it blocked my creativity and the ability to have fun.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: EDM and Pop.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Communication and ideas.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Everything.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I 9/10 times start out with piano. Melodies and chords.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: It’s minimal. Always been, i prefer to have it as little as possible.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I very rarely listen to music, i listen to the same music i like over and over and over again. I love everything from avicii to post malone.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mostly mix vocals, produce and co produce!
Prices and revisions are for now are something we can figure out. I’m new here and trying to figure out if this is something i want to continue with! Reach out!😃
