Professional singer & songwriter, lead of Carmina Vaga (Medieval, Folk) and Dreadful Harvest (Modern Metal), composer for film/game music in the making, teacher, versatile across many genres.
My name is Martina, I’m 34 years old and I’ve been a professional singer for over 14 years. I hold a degree in Modern Vocal Performance from Saint Louis College of Music in Rome, where I am currently completing a Master’s degree in Applied Music Composition for Film and Video Games.
Alongside my work as a performer, I also teach singing and music theory. Songwriting is a core part of my career as well: I am the main songwriter and lead vocalist of Dreadful Harvest (modern metal) and Carmina Vaga (medieval/folk Music).
I work across a wide range of musical genres, from 90s/2000s dance music to medieval and fantasy-inspired music for films and TV series.

Endorse Martina Cori1 Reviews
check_circleVerifiedMartina was an absolute pleasure to work with. She took all of my ideas and transformed them into a beautiful mother-son song that exceeded my expectations. Her voice is absolutely stunning, and the emotion she brought to every lyric made the song incredibly heartfelt and meaningful. I am so grateful for her talent, creativity, and dedication throughout the process. Thank you, Martina, for creating a song that my son and I will cherish forever.
Interview with Martina Cori
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: My advice would be to choose someone who understands your vision and can translate your ideas into music. Clear communication is essential: the more details, references, and emotions the customer can share, the better the final result will be.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: If I were on a desert island, I would bring a guitar, a portable recorder (such as a Zoom H5), a solar-powered Bluetti battery, a drum, and a portable Mac.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been working as a performer since I was 20 years old (I am now 34). I started playing music as a hobby at the age of 15 and entered the Conservatory at 19. Throughout my career, I have worked in theatre, both in Italy and abroad, as well as performing in bands and orchestras. I have been teaching music for 10 years, and I have been writing, arranging, and recording music for 20 years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I would describe my style as a blend of pop, folk, dark, and fantasy-inspired music. Whether I'm writing an intimate song or a cinematic piece, I always focus on creating memorable melodies, emotional depth, and an immersive atmosphere
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I'd love to work with any film composer because I'm fascinated by the relationship between music and visual storytelling. I love how music can enhance emotions, shape a scene, and become an essential part of the narrative. Creating music that brings images to life is one of my greatest passions.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Yes: Finish the song structure first. Don't tell yourself, "I'll figure it out later." Even if a section doesn't feel quite right at the moment, keep going and complete the entire structure. Once the song is finished, it's much easier to step back, identify what needs improvement, and refine it with a clear perspective.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I currently work on a wide range of genres, including medieval and fantasy-inspired music, folk, modern metal, cinematic music for films and video games, and pop music in general. I enjoy adapting my writing and production style to each project while maintaining a strong focus on emotion, melody, and storytelling.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is writing lyrics, melody, and harmony simultaneously. This allows me to create songs that feel cohesive and emotionally authentic, with every element supporting the overall vision from the very beginning.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring meaningful lyrics and memorable melodies that connect with listeners on an emotional level. My goal is to create songs that don't just sound good, but also tell a story and make people feel something.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My creative process usually starts with finding a chord progression that inspires me while developing the vocal melody at the same time. Once the harmonic and melodic foundation feels right, I focus on the rhythm and groove. From there, I refine every element, polishing the arrangement and completing the songwriting in all its parts. Finally, I move on to sound selection and production, although I usually have a clear vision of the final sonic direction from the very beginning.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work with Logic Pro X as my main DAW, using a Universal Audio Apollo Solo audio interface and an Aston Spirit condenser microphone. This setup allows me to produce high-quality vocal recordings and deliver professional results for every project.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm deeply inspired by the great film composers, such as John Williams, Howard Shore, and Hans Zimmer, as well as exceptional songwriters from a wide range of genres and eras. My influences range from John Denver to Bon Iver, Corey Taylor, Chris Cornell, Lady Gaga, and Jeff Buckley. I enjoy so many different styles of music that it's difficult to point to a single source of inspiration.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The type of work I do most often for my clients includes writing and recording the topline for a song, including all vocal harmonies. I also write complete songs based on lyrics provided by the client, following their creative direction—for example, "I want a rock ballad" or "I want a dance track." In other cases, it's the opposite: the client already has the instrumental music, and I write the missing lyrics and vocal melody to complete the song.
