Modern alternative pop and rock mixes that balance raw emotion with polished, competitive sound.
I’m a mixing engineer specializing in alternative pop and rock, helping artists achieve mixes that feel emotional, powerful, and release-ready. My focus is on preserving the raw character of your performance while delivering a polished, competitive sound that translates across all listening environments.
I work in a hybrid studio, combining high-quality analog processing with precise digital tools to bring depth, clarity, and energy to every mix. Whether your song is intimate and vulnerable or loud and driven, I shape the mix around the emotion and intention of the track.
You’ll get clear communication, a structured revision process, and a mix tailored to your references and artistic vision. My goal is simple: make your song feel like your best work.

Interview with Scopulus Records
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. Analog for character, depth, and emotion. Dgital for precision, flexibility, and recall. Combining the two allows me to focus on what the song actually needs, not on the tools themselves.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise is to treat every song with care and attention, and to work closely with you until the mix or master truly supports your vision and feels right to you.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: What I enjoy most is getting to hear other people’s ideas and helping shape their vision into something real. Being part of that creative process and seeing a song come together is always the most rewarding part.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: People usually ask what I need from them to get started. I tell them a rough mix, a few reference tracks, and a short note about what they like or don’t like. Everything else we figure out together.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: A common misconception is that mixing or mastering can fix everything. A great mix enhances what’s already there. It brings clarity and emotion to a song, but it works best when the recording and performance are solid.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I usually ask about the artist’s vision for the song, any reference tracks they love, and what they want the listener to feel. I also check technical details like file prep and deadlines, so the creative process stays smooth and focused.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Look for someone who understands your music, not just your files. Clear references, open communication, and trust in the process go a long way. When the vision is shared, the results usually speak for themselves.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: I’d take a Neve preamp, an LA-2A, a Pultec EQ, my trusty Fender Rhodes Mk1, and a Roland Space Echo.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started out in a music-focused school with a strong emphasis on pop and jazz, which shaped my musical foundation early on. I later studied audio engineering at university and have been working in music production and mixing for about 5 years, developing a focused approach to sound, emotion, and detail.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is modern and emotional, balancing raw performances with polished, competitive sound, while drawing subtle inspiration from the warmth, depth, and character of ’80s records. I focus on clarity, feel, and restraint, letting the song lead the mix.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I’d love to work with artists who value emotion and songwriting, like Charlie Burg or Tom Misch, because their music balances intimacy and polish.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: If it sounds good, it works. Rules can help, but trusting your ears and the emotion of the song is what really matters.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I mainly work on alternative pop and rock, including indie, singer-songwriter, and modern rock projects.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is balancing emotion and clarity. Knowing how to shape a mix so it feels powerful and expressive while still translating cleanly across different listening environments.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring clarity, balance, and emotional focus to a song. My goal is to enhance what’s already there, shaping the mix so the vocals, energy, and details support the emotion and intention of the track, while making it sound confident
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My process starts with reviewing your files, rough mix, and references to understand your vision and the emotion of the song. I then build the mix from the ground up, focusing on balance, tone, and dynamics. Once the first version is ready, I’ll send it for feedback and refine it through revisions until it feels right. For mastering, I focus on translation, loudness, and consistency.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work from a hybrid studio, combining analog outboard gear with a modern digital workflow. My setup allows me to capture analog depth and character while maintaining precision, recall, and consistency in the box. Key pieces include a Neve 1073 DPX Dual Preamp & EQ and an Avalon VT-737, which I use selectively for tone, warmth, and musical shaping. The room is treated and optimized for accurate monitoring, ensuring mixes translate well across different playback systems.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspired by artists and producers like Tyler the Creator and Tom Misch, as well as legendary mixing engineer Bruce Swedien. Their work influences my focus on emotion, clarity, depth, and musical balance in every mix.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most of my work involves mixing alternative pop and rock songs for independent artists who want a polished, modern sound without losing emotion or character. I focus on working closely with the artist’s references to deliver release-ready mixes that translate well across listening systems.
