R&B Music Producer

Geremy Kendrick on SoundBetter

I’m a singer, producer, and mix engineer helping artists turn strong ideas into finished, professional records. My specialty is modern pop, R&B, and alternative vocals — from performance and vocal production to clean, competitive mixes that translate across every system. I focus on emotion first, clarity second, and polish last — so the song

I’m a singer, vocal producer, and mix engineer with a strong focus on vocals that connect and mixes that feel clean, modern, and intentional.

I work primarily in pop, R&B, indie, and alternative styles, helping independent artists transform ideas, demos, or rough recordings into polished releases that stand up next to commercial records. My background as both an artist and engineer allows me to approach each project with sensitivity to performance, tone, and emotional impact — not just technical perfection.

My process is collaborative and efficient. I take time to understand your references and goals, then shape the vocal and mix around what makes the song unique. I value clear communication, tasteful processing, and results that translate well across headphones, cars, and speakers.

Whether you’re early in your journey or preparing a serious release, my goal is simple:
help you sound like the best version of yourself.

Interview with Geremy Kendrick

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: I am currently trying to produce my own album. In the beginning stages.

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: Digital — for flexibility, efficiency, and consistency. The sound comes from decisions, not just hardware.

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: I’ll treat your song with care, respect your vision, and deliver work I’d be proud to put my name on.

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: I love what music does for people. You always remember where and when you heard your new favorite song. I'd like to be that for someone.

  9. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  10. A: That mixing or vocal production is just about making things louder or cleaner — it’s really about emotional balance and intention.

  11. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  12. A: I usually ask about reference tracks, goals for the song, deadlines, and what they want listeners to feel when they hear it.

  13. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  14. A: Look for someone who understands your vision and communicates clearly — technical skill matters, but alignment and trust matter just as much.

  15. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  16. A: Mic, laptop, Audio interface, Maschine Plus, and a guitar.

  17. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  18. A: I grew up around music from the very beginning — my father was the church musician, so singing and live music were part of everyday life from childhood. That foundation shaped my ear and musical instincts early on. In 2020, I began producing and engineering my own music, which naturally evolved into vocal production and mixing for other artists.

  19. Q: How would you describe your style?

  20. A: I say the thing that everyone thinks, but cant come up with the words.

  21. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  22. A: I would love to work with Leon Thomas. He has a certain pull and his lyrical imagery is genius.

  23. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  24. A: Don’t over-process early. Get the performance and balance right first — most great mixes are built on simple, intentional decisions.

  25. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  26. A: Modern pop, R&B, indie pop, alternative, and melodic hip-hop.

  27. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  28. A: I don't look at things from the technical perspective all of the time. I FEEL the music.

  29. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  30. A: Perspective. I approach each song as both an artist and an engineer, making sure the technical choices always support the emotion, story, and identity of the track.

  31. Q: What's your typical work process?

  32. A: I start by understanding the client’s reference tracks and goals. From there, I focus on vocal clarity and emotion first, then build the mix around that foundation.

  33. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  34. A: I work from a dedicated home studio optimized for vocal clarity and critical listening. My setup is built around a reliable DAW workflow (Fl Studio), quality monitoring, and industry-standard plugins focused on clean, musical results.

  35. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  36. A: I’m inspired by artists and producers who balance emotion with polish — people like Frank Ocean, Billie Eilish, FINNEAS, The Weeknd, and modern pop/R&B engineers who prioritize feel over excess processing.
