Pianist & Music Composer

Laszlo Verschueren on SoundBetter

Emotion shaped through orchestral and electronic sound

Having started playing the piano at the age of six, music is now an integral part of my life. I grew up with it, and I now wish to merge it with another passion of mine: video games.

One of my greatest dreams is to bring my music to life, allowing it to tell a story and accompany interactive worlds.
Known as "Verlaz.vl" I publish my compositions on platforms.
I completed my entire academic training in piano and music theory. I currently teach piano, and in 2022, I won first prize at the Rotary Young Musicians Competition of Thiérache.

Interview with Laszlo Verschueren

  1. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  2. A: What I love most is bringing my music to life, giving it emotions, developing stories around it; there are so many different interpretations and I find that wonderful. Seeing people moved by my music, that it can bring them something, is my greatest reward.

  3. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  4. A: I started playing the piano when I was 6 years old in private lessons, then I started playing the accordion for two years. I then took piano and music theory lessons at a music school and continued playing the accordion in orchestras. After that, I began improvising and composing to publish on platforms, and I also create reels that I post on Instagram. I eventually graduated in music theory and piano from my music school and I started teaching private piano lessons. I have now been involved in the world of music for over 13 years; it is my favorite hobby.

  5. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  6. A: I think it's important to listen to your music again in different contexts and under different conditions, and that you shouldn't hesitate to ask others for objective and constructive feedback.

  7. Q: What's your typical work process?

  8. A: I start by finding an emotion, what I want to express through my music, and then I develop it with chords. I start by building the 'drop,' then I develop around that, and I only stop when I'm satisfied because I'm quite a perfectionist and I like work done well.

  9. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  10. A: I have invested in music equipment such as FL Studio, a sound card, amplifiers, headphones, a microphone, ... I have my own home studio.

  11. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  12. A: I am working on my first piano EP, which consists of 4 pieces connected to each other through a story and symbolism.

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: I most often work with epic orchestral music and EDM, including house, drum and bass, ...

  15. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  16. A: I have a good knowledge of music and its theory because I completed my musical training at a music school.

  17. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  18. A: I try to represent my emotions as best as I can, because I think that music is made of that; it is there to illustrate what we feel without putting it into words.

  19. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
