I’m a Producer & Engineer focused on helping artists create polished, release-ready records without losing the emotion that makes a song connect.

I specialize in modern R&B and melodic hip-hop, handling both the creative production and the technical engineering so your sound stays consistent from idea to final export. My approach is clean, intentional, and built around the vocal — space, tone, and clarity matter.

I work efficiently, communicate clearly, and respect your vision. Whether you’re starting with a rough idea or a nearly finished track, I help shape it into a professional record that translates across speakers and platforms.

If you want someone who understands both sides of the process and takes your music seriously, let’s work.

Interview with YoMarzz

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I would say the song I produced for Madai Chakell, who went on to American Idol the following year. I enjoyed that song because it showed me that it is possible to work with that caliber of an artist, regardless of the turnout of the song.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: A new beat tape that I'm releasing early next year.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: None at the moment, but there are plenty of amazing creatives on this site who people should shop with.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Both. While the digital is faster and lighter, it is an emulation of the analog.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: To give my all in supporting their vision and dreams in a song, podcast, or full project. Out of the many people who do the same thing, they chose me, and I do not take that lightly, so I have to give it everything.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: The freedom of doing what I love, and it not being work even if there is a tight deadline.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: How much do I charge, and can they have it for free. While I believe in working with and meeting people where they are at, I don't believe you can help everyone with a freebie because some take advantage of it heavily. The moment you stop helping them, you are the bad guy and the ops immediately, so I say my price is my price for a reason. Every other service people will gladly pay for in full, whether they like it or not, so why should music be any different.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: Anyone can get a laptop, go on YouTube, and learn how to engineer or make beats, and then get placements immediately. If it were that easy, I believe many creatives would have had major placements already.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: How may I be of service and value to you in getting out your vision?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: When hiring a producer or engineer, it’s important to find someone who understands your vision and can turn your ideas into a polished, release-ready track. I always recommend checking a provider’s portfolio samples to hear the quality and style of their work. Clear communication is key — share references, your vocal files, and what feeling you want in the track. A good provider will listen, guide you where needed, and make the process easy and creative from start to finish.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: My setup now, but with better headphones

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: For a very long time.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Spacey and chill vibes and sometimes sensual.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I would love to work with James Fauntleroy. The reason why is the amount of depth I could go into creating would be wild.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Always keep the listener engaged and guessing.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: R&b or Rap as of lately.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Not overcomplicating things.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring out the emotions in the song, I feel like.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: For beats, usually the melody first and drums after. From the melody, everything else is built. When mixing or editing i am consolidating and organizing a lot more first before adding or removing anything to the audio files.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: My setup is simple and mobile. A MacBook Pro, headphones, midi controller and SSL2+ Interface.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I'm inspired by the full spectrum, not just production and engineering, but songwriting, for instance.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: Production and mixing work on songs or full projects for clients.
