Hi, I’m Khatumu — a touring artist, songwriter, producer, and vocalist with 150k monthly listeners. I went to Yale, sang tenor in the world’s oldest a cappella group, received distinctions for writing, self-produce most releases, and have opened for Mon Rovîa, Michigander, and Oliver Hazard.
I studied at Yale University, where I received academic distinctions specifically for writing. During my time there, I sang tenor in the world’s oldest a cappella group, an experience that sharpened my ear for harmony, blend, and arrangement while teaching me how to collaborate at a high level. That foundation continues to shape how I approach songwriting, vocals, and production today.
As a signed artist, I self-produce the majority of my releases, which has given me a strong command of arrangement, texture, and emotional pacing. I care deeply about how production supports the story of a song — how instrumentation, dynamics, and space can elevate lyric and melody rather than distract from them. I’m comfortable working across genres, but I’m especially drawn to projects that value honesty, clarity, and emotional specificity.
Touring has played a major role in my development.
