Neil MacLeod is a New Zealand–based mixing engineer with nearly a decade of experience in the music industry. Originally emerging as an artist and producer, his work blended electronica and cinematic textures with singer-songwriter sensibilities - an artistic foundation that now informs every mix he delivers.

Over the past two years, Neil has focused deeply on mixing, working with some of New Zealand’s finest artists. His background in writing and production gives him a rare sensitivity to artistic intent. He doesn’t impose a sound; he uncovers and enhances what’s already there. Each mix begins with careful listening - understanding the vision, emotion, and details that matter - before applying laser-focused precision and taste to elevate the record without compromising its identity.

Neil is known for being efficient, reliable, and relentless about quality. His goal is simple: art first, and mixes that genuinely serve the music and the people behind it.

I had an amazing experience working with Neil Macleod on the mix for my song Simmer Down. From start to finish, the process felt genuinely collaborative rather than just sending a track off and waiting for a result. Neil was incredibly easy to work with, offered quick and clear revisions, and always checked in to compare versions and make sure the mix aligned with what I was hearing.

I’ve also worked with Neil previously in the studio, and his ear for sonics is exceptional, honestly beyond anyone else I’ve worked with. He’s a true perfectionist, but without hesitation. He loves this shit!

I've worked with Neil on two of my tracks, and the polish that he brings is definitely worthwhile. Super easy to work with, and I got revisions back quickly. Great to have an unbiased person come in and help take your song to the next level, whilst remaining sensitive to the original intent and helping make what you've already made better.
