RUSE

EDM Producer & Mix Engineer

RUSE on SoundBetter

I am RUSE, a producer specializing in high-energy Future House and Electronic Pop. Whether you need a heavy bassline or a radio-ready anthem, I bring the energy to every track—crisp drums, unique sound design, and a mix that cuts through the noise.

I am RUSE, a 20-year-old Producer and DJ from Costa Rica. I specialize in turning rough demos into radio-ready anthems with deep grooves, metallic basslines, and punchy drums.

My sound is heavily influenced by the "Future House" movement. If you are looking for that specific bounce—where the bass drives the song and the mix sounds huge—I am your guy.

About Me: I pride myself on discipline and a unique perspective. As the world's first known DJ/Producer with Type 1 Diabetes, I approach music with the same relentless focus I apply to my life. No shortcuts, just high-quality sound.

Let’s work. Send me your demo or reference track, and let’s discuss how to take your project to the next level.

Interview with RUSE

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I recently produced a track where I had to turn a very raw acoustic demo into a club-ready anthem. I handled everything from the arrangement and sound design to the final mix. Seeing it go from a simple idea to a massive, polished track that the artist loved was a proud moment.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I'm currently producing a series of Future House singles and refining a custom sound design pack to keep my future productions sounding fresh and unique.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I am always looking to collaborate with talented vocalists and songwriters on the platform who specialize in Pop and House music to take my productions to the next level.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital. For the fast-paced world of Future House and Electronic Pop, the speed, recall, and precision of high-end plugins are essential for modern sound design and meeting tight deadlines.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: No ego. I am not satisfied until you are 100% hyped to release the song. I promise transparency, fast communication, and a final product that meets top industry standards.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I love the transformation process. Taking a raw idea or a simple vocal and building a high-energy, emotional world around it is the most rewarding feeling—especially when the artist hears the final mix and says, 'This is exactly how I heard it in my head.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Yes! I use references as a sonic blueprint for the 'vibe' and technical polish, but I always inject my own sound design and your unique artistic identity to ensure the track stands out on its own.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: The biggest misconception is that 'mixing' is just adjusting volumes. In reality, a creative mix is a form of production itself—it’s about using sound design and emotion to make the track feel alive and professional.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: Do you have a specific reference track for the overall sound and energy? Is the song already fully written, or do you need help with arrangement and production? What is your target deadline for the final master?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Always provide 2–3 reference tracks that capture the 'vibe' and 'energy' you want. This allows me to align my creative mixing and production decisions perfectly with your vision from the very first draft.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Laptop, Serum 2, Mic Audio-Technica AT2020 and Headphone M40x and a water bottle hehe

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: When I was 8 years old my brother was a DJ, he introduced me to this world, that's where I discovered EDM and fell in love with it (12 years ago)

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: A high-energy sound that blends the infectious bounce of Future House with the polished clarity of modern Electronic Pop, style focuses on big basslines, punchy drums, and deep grooves that cut through any mix.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Charlie Puth or Rüfüs Du Sol, I think the feeling is attached

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Just enjoy your progress, the rush ruin the feeling and be super organized :)

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Mostly EDM, Pop and Reggaeton

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Organization/Workflow

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: Convert draft songs or ideas into a big club banger!

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: Always In productions usually I start with some melodys layer and basses

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: Considering a fixed location as a studio is very limiting; where the heart is, there is the studio

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Oliver Heldens, Tchami are two biggest exponents for me

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: Your references are my blueprint. I love building creative, emotion-driven productions and mixes that ensure your song feels exactly how you imagined it.
