Interview with Dieci's Studio
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Not yet, as I have just opened my SoundBetter account, but will keep this question updated!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. They sound both as good if you can't see which is which
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Looking at all the smiles that I can put on my clients' faces when they hear the finished product. That is the best feeling ever, and I will never get tired of it.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That we all live in a dungeon
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Well... Do you have a reference track?
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have started studying when I was about 17 at a music school in Rome taking private mixing classes. Later in the year 2024 (5 years later) I enrolled at Percentomusica taking the mixing classes, being tutored by some of the greats in Rome/Italy.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: I think that tracking off the floor really helps to deliver a better performance, but also feel it.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I spent most of my "training" time mixing Rock/Metal, but I have some experience working with Pop and a little of the derivates from Pop
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill has to be communication! I love getting to know more about the artist and the song/ep/album so that I can make the customer excited on the results.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I will help the artist/band bring out all the emotions by using my knowledge
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: When I receive a session from a client, I start from cleaning up any unwanted noises/remove silent sections. Then, onto mixing and mastering!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I mix entirely In The Box, so a simple audio interface, Antelope Zen Go, and a pair of Kali monitors
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: David Bottrill, I absolutely love the work that he did on all of his works, but I have a special place in my heart for what he did with Tool and Mudvayne.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I offer mixing and mastering services!
