Interview with Catalina

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I’m especially proud of my album Butterfly, where I wrote all the lyrics and shaped the entire emotional concept. It was a deeply personal project and my role was full songwriting and creative direction.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I’m writing new emotional pop songs and developing concepts for my next releases.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Not yet — I’m still discovering the community here.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital — it gives me speed, flexibility and the freedom to focus on emotion and storytelling.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: Honest emotion, clear communication and lyrics that truly reflect your vision.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: Turning emotions into words and creating a story that someone else can feel.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Most clients ask how long it takes. I deliver lyrics and concept within 3–7 days, with 1–2 revisions included.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That lyrics are easy. Good storytelling takes time, emotion and a clear vision.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I ask about the emotion, story and atmosphere they want, their reference tracks and what message the song should carry.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Know the emotion and story you want to express. Clear direction always leads to a better song.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Notebook, pen, laptop, headphones and a quiet space to write.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I’ve been writing lyrics and developing song concepts for several years. My path started with personal songwriting, and over time it naturally evolved into creating emotional, cinematic stories for other artists.

  28. A: Taylor Swift or Dua Lipa — I admire artists who combine strong identity with emotional depth, and I’d love to bring my storytelling to their music.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Be patient and stay focused on what you want your song to say and the atmosphere you want it to create.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Emotional pop, cinematic pop, soft pop and atmospheric R&B.
