Specializing in rock/alternative, my mixing and mastering services will bring your song to life. My mixes have helped secure both label and top management deals for various artists I've worked with.
I offer remote mixing and mastering services for clients worldwide. Working from my home studio in Boston, my clients send Pro Tools sessions, stems, or WAV files, and I work tirelessly to bring the music to life until it meets the client's needs. Artists/clients will usually give me an idea for where they want their mix to go, and I send bounces until the client is 100% satisfied.
I graduated at the top of my class from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Contemporary Writing & Production, a major focussing heavily on music production and music technology, and also acquired a minor in acoustics and electronics. I also worked at a recording studio in Boston engineering on a variety of sessions for clients at the studio, and offer freelance production and engineering services for local artists.
I also offer various piano, keyboard, synthesizer, guitar, drums, and bass parts to add to your production if necessary through my connections to professional studio musicians.

Interview with Max Challis
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Relaxed but professional. I like to keep my conversations friendly and casual, but I take my work seriously and work hard for my clients to guarantee satisfaction.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Although I regularly work with all types of Rock and Alternative music, I'm very comfortable working with folk, R&B, reggae, jazz, and orchestral.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: My biggest inspirations are those who blur the line between producer, engineer, and creator. The likes of Brian Eno, George Martin, Nigel Godrich, and Dave Fridmann (mainly his work with the Flaming Lips) are those who I aspire to be.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I'm regularly doing freelance engineering, mixing, mastering, and production for clients.
