Venezuelan composer, singer and writer with influences from the contemporary, urban, glam, folkloric and theater scenes that has worked with Latin, rock, musical theater, jazz and orchestral ensembles.
I'm a contemporary composer in love with art experimentation. Music is as much of a language as any other dialect, however, it's not Latin; this is a living language that I'm ready for us to communicate in and make it evolve.
I've worked with a variety of ensembles from chamber music to merengue and folk, and I'm familiar with different DAWs, music writing methodologies and approaches as well as styles.
I specialize in contemporary music, urban genres and love amalgamating genres.

Interview with Oliver Rohand
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: It's difficult to pick. As a contemporary artist, using both tends to be the best practice.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: We'll make some beautiful art.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I enjoy the creation process and discussing all of the ideas that may form a new piece.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Q: "Can we add ____ to it?" A: "We can make it work"
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: "It's all unorganized noise"
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What do you want to convey or express through the piece? Do you have a preferred style? Any instrument that should be a must?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Instead of "what should the end product sound like" let's start from "where is it coming from". An idea? A dream? A thoughtless comment made 7 years ago? Let's create from the bottom
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, headset, mic, audio interface and smartphone. Contemporary music works best in the wild.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I'm a professional musician with emphasis in composition. I started playing piano and bongos at school when I was 7 and moved to singing when I was 12. Started composing around 16-17 and worked with different musicians in Caracas to try joining the Latin Rock scene.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Freeform and dissonantly smooth.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: 1. Gorillaz/Damon Albarn, being one of my favourite artists mainly due to the variety in their music. 2. Miranda!, who are one of my biggest inspirations to become a musician and create art with my own particular signature. 3. Systema Solar, whose style I really like and would love to experiment with.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: A proper bass line can change the world, and no bass can go around without good percussions.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Contemporary, urban, electronic and orchestral
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I believe there are no bad ideas as everything could bring a new concept or execution that will create a new piece.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I've had the chance to work with a wide variety or artists and styles, which has led me to form a particular style of my own. I wouldn't say my music is the most unique or the best, but it's definitely mine and only mine.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I normally start with the score to get a proper place to part from. Once the score shows a defined structure, I start looking for the actual sounds (instruments) I want in each instrumental section, and after playing around with MIDI instruments, rerecord everything needed to move towards mixing and mastering.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Damon Albarn, Luis Fernando Gooding, Mark Ronson
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Composition and lead singer gigs
