Wain on SoundBetter

Producer & mix engineer with 100+ released tracks. I create emotional, vocal-driven pop/folk/alt productions blending acoustic guitar, piano and modern clean sound. Fast, collaborative and focused on getting release-ready results.

Hi, I’m WAIN, a music producer, mix engineer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist (guitar & piano) with 100+ released tracks across pop, folk-pop, alt and cinematic styles. I specialize in emotional, vocal-driven productions that feel clean, modern and deeply human.

I help artists take a song from a simple voice note to a fully produced, mixed, release-ready record. My sound blends acoustic warmth (guitars, piano, organic textures) with polished modern pop/alt production. Whether you want something intimate, atmospheric or energetic, I shape the production around your voice and story.

What I offer:
• Full production from arrangement to final mix
• Vocal production: comping, tuning, timing & layers
• Mixing: clean, expressive, radio-ready
• Live instruments: acoustic guitar, electric guitar, piano
• Co-writing & storytelling
• Fast turnaround + clear communication

I’ve collaborated with artists from the U.S. and worldwide, and recently released my debut album Still Colorful, an 8-track project featuring a different vocalist on each song. My approach is collaborative, detail-oriented and fully focused on serving the emotion of the track.

If you’re looking for warm, emotional, modern production, I’d love to bring your vision to life.

Working with WAIN was one of those rare moments where you realize you’re in the room with someone who isn’t just talented, he’s operating on a completely different frequency. Every idea he touched turned into something beautiful. His vocal production is unreal, his instincts are laser-sharp, and his ability to translate emotion into sound is something I’ve never seen before.
I’ve worked with big producers, but WAIN brought a level of intention, musicality and emotional intelligence that honestly blew me away. The song we made together feels like the best version of my artistry, polished but

WAIN is one of the most intuitive collaborators I’ve worked with. He understands emotion, pacing, texture and vocal storytelling on a deep level. The way he builds a song – layer by layer, idea by idea – feels effortless but incredibly precise. His mixes breathe, his arrangements support the artist, and his communication is clear and reliable. He elevates every project he touches and brings out the best in everyone around him.

From the start, WAIN made me feel like my song mattered. He took every idea seriously, responded quickly, and came back with production drafts that blew me away. He’s not afraid to experiment but always stays true to the heart of the track. His guitar work added warmth, his atmospheric elements added dimension, and the final mix sounded ready for release. I genuinely felt like my song was in safe hands.

I’ve mixed hundreds of tracks, and every time I get stems from WAIN I know they will be beautifully arranged, thoughtfully recorded and emotionally powerful. His attention to detail in vocal editing is some of the best I’ve encountered. The way he layers acoustic and synthetic elements creates a unique sonic identity. He brings a level of craftsmanship and intention that makes the mix process a joy. True professional.

Working with WAIN felt like collaborating with someone who genuinely cared about my story. He asked about the meaning behind the lyrics, the emotion I wanted to convey, the colors and textures I imagined. Every production choice he made reflected that intention. His piano parts were gorgeous, the atmosphere was delicate but impactful, and the vocal mix felt warm and close. The whole process was inspiring, personal and incredibly professional.

As a vocalist, finding a producer who knows how to bring out your strengths without drowning you in processing is rare. WAIN is that producer. He guided me through takes, helped me shape phrasing, and built a production that wrapped around my voice instead of competing with it. The mix was warm, airy and perfectly balanced. His sense for vocal intimacy is unmatched. I felt fully supported artistically from start to finish.

WAIN made me feel safe creatively. He asked the right questions, listened deeply, and approached my song with a sensitivity that’s rare. His guitar and piano work added so much depth, and the production felt intimate without ever being empty. The way he shaped my vocals – gentle tuning, clean comping, subtle doubles, was exactly what the track needed. It felt honest and alive. This was one of the best collaborations I’ve been part of.

As a producer myself, I’m extremely selective about who I collaborate with, and WAIN exceeded every expectation. His ability to take raw ideas and turn them into a coherent, emotional production is unreal. He’s fast without sacrificing quality, thoughtful without overthinking, and his musical instincts are consistently spot-on. The balance he brings between acoustic and modern electronic elements shows a level of taste and maturity that’s hard to find. I’d trust him with any project.

Working with WAIN was one of the most empowering creative experiences I’ve had. He doesn’t just produce a track, he builds a world around your voice. From the very first demo, he understood the emotional core of my song and amplified it with arrangements that felt modern, warm and intentional. His vocal direction helped me unlock a performance I didn’t even know I had. The final mix was clean, dynamic and radio-ready. WAIN is a rare combination of musician, engineer and storyteller.

Interview with Wain

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: One project I’m especially proud of is my debut album Still Colorful. It features eight different vocalists and co-writers, and I produced, arranged, mixed and mastered every track. The challenge was to create a cohesive emotional story while adapting the sound to each artist’s voice and style. It pushed me creatively and technically, and it represents exactly what I love most, vocal-driven, honest, modern music built through real collaboration.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I’m producing multiple singles for independent artists, mixing new projects, and developing fresh material for upcoming collaborations since relocating to Los Angeles.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I’m new to the platform, but I’m always happy to recommend great vocalists, musicians or mix engineers as I get to know more creators here.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital. It gives me speed, flexibility and recall, which lets me focus fully on the artist’s performance and emotion. I still add analog-inspired warmth through guitars and real instruments.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: To respect your vision, communicate clearly, deliver on time, and give your song the emotion, clarity and detail it deserves.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: Helping artists hear their ideas become real. I love seeing the moment when a rough voice note turns into a fully formed song that feels honest and powerful.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Most clients ask: “Can you make my song sound professional and emotional?” My answer: Absolutely. I focus on vocal clarity, clean production, and the emotional arc that makes a track feel alive.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That production is just adding layers. In reality, it’s about understanding the artist’s emotion, shaping the song around the vocal, and making hundreds of small decisions that bring the story to life.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I ask for references, what emotion they’re aiming for, what story the song tells, and how they want the vocal to feel. I also ask about deadlines and how hands-on they want to be.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Pick someone who listens to your vision first. A great producer should communicate clearly, respect your style, and make your vocal and message feel alive.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Acoustic guitar, Apollo Twin X, laptop with Logic Pro, SM7B mic, and my headphones.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I started producing and writing in my teens, studied sound engineering, and have now produced and mixed over 100 released tracks. I’ve worked with artists from the U.S., U.K. and worldwide, and released my own debut album in 2025.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Emotional, vocal-driven, clean and modern. A blend of acoustic guitar, piano, and organic textures with subtle electronic elements and cinematic depth.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Billie Eilish, because of the intimacy and storytelling in her vocal delivery. I love blending warmth and minimalism with modern textures, which fits her sound perfectly.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Focus on the vocal first. Build the production around the emotion, not the other way around. If the vocal feels honest and clear, the whole track falls into place.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Pop, folk-pop, alt-pop, indie, cinematic, and acoustic singer-songwriter. Warm, emotional, vocal-forward music with a modern clean production style.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Vocal-driven production, shaping songs around the emotion of the vocal and creating clean, modern, intimate mixes. Also strong at guitar-based arrangements and adding the right atmosphere and depth to a track.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: Emotion, clarity and intention. I bring strong musical instincts on guitar and piano, a modern production approach, and very detailed vocal work. My goal is always to elevate the artist’s voice and make the song feel honest, powerful and fully alive.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I start by understanding the artist’s vision and reference tracks. Then I build the production around the vocal, beginning with guitar or piano, adding textures, drums, and atmosphere. After that I comp, tune and mix the vocals to sit emotionally and clearly in the track, and finish with a clean, polished mix.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I work from a hybrid studio built around Dynaudio BM15A monitors, Apollo Twin X, ADAT expansion, Novation Summit, Line 6 Helix LT, acoustic and electric guitars, and Logic Pro X. It’s a clean, efficient and flexible setup that lets me work fast and deliver high-quality results.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I’m inspired by producers like Finneas, Aaron Dessner, Jack Antonoff, and Bon Iver. I love how they blend acoustic warmth, intimacy, and storytelling with modern sound design and clean, dynamic mixes.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I mostly produce full songs from scratch, taking a voice memo and turning it into a fully arranged, emotional, release-ready track. I also do vocal production (comping, tuning), mixing, and acoustic/electric guitar sessions.
