Songwriter / Lyricist — 20+ Years | Rap • R&B • Neo-Soul • Hip-Hop • Bassline • House I’ve been writing for over two decades — not because I planned to be a songwriter, but because words wouldn’t leave me alone. Poetry evolved into rap, rap spilled into neo-soul and R&B, then into bassline, house, hip-hop — it’s like therapy to me.
I don’t do generic. I write lyrics that mean something, tell a story and fit with whatever the track needs. Flow, structure, tone, message… I’m obsessive about getting it right.
Music is my passion.
I love most genres, all eras. I’ve studied lyrics and production my whole life — how beats breathe, where vocals should sit, how pockets open and close, why certain hooks cling to your brain and how metaphors, rhyme placing and structure effect the feel of a song. I grew up analysing tracks, from Hip Hop, Rap, 90s dance, R&B, neosoul, bassline, techno, garage power ballads, grime, freestyle flows etc I’ve studied it all. I know how to write genre based lyrics.
I’ve got an English Literature & Language degree — so I don’t just write, I understand narrative, tone, metaphor, rhythm, subtext… the mechanics behind storytelling.
I’ve also been freestyle MC’ing for 10 years so I know how to flow instinctively.
Every word earns its spot on the line and has intention. Full song, hook, proofing etc - what you need I’ll do.
I’ve never pushed my work publicly, but the lyric books are overflowing and I am being pushed by family, friends and DJ/producer friends to get into ghostwriting as they are screaming that my work is too good to go to waste. So, it’s finally time to open it up.
