Hi! I'm Leo, and I live in Barcelona, where I work as a full-time pianist and music producer. Over my 25-year career, I've been fortunate enough to record and produce for renowned artists and brands, work on my own artistic projects, and collaborate with hundreds of musicians.
You can hire me for: providing backing piano for your vocals, creating a piano cover of your favorite song, delivering advanced harmonization for your jazz composition, sick rhodes chords for your R&B or Neo Soul track, adding synths, bass or pads to your electronic music production (Trap, House, Reggaeton...), incorporating piano licks and riffs that enhance your blues or rock song, and handling the full arrangement and production of your track (including high-quality analog mixing and mastering).
I have a comprehensive educational background, spanning from jazz and modern music to classical and electronic music, music production, mixing, and mastering. Additionally, I boast extensive experience in online sessions, with nearly 2,000 accomplished gigs and top placements on all the major platforms.
Before placing an order, please drop me a message to discuss availability and prices. I'll ask you to send me your material (demos, rough mixes, single stems etc.) along with some information about what you're looking for. It's even better if you provide specific references. After that, I'll inform you of the exact delivery date. I don't really set a limit on revisions, but if the instructions are clear, they're often unnecessary.
I'm fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian.

Leo is a master at what he does and the track was right where I wanted it after the first version. Very professional and super happy with how it turned out!
Leo is a tasteful musician, he knows what to add to enhance the overall quality of the song. He is also willing to listen to my ideas. Enjoy working with him as always :)
Leo is an amazing musician, so accurate and nail it every time, it's a pleasure to collaborate with him.
Leo really listed to my suggestions with a one of my songs and he came back with a truly powerful, moving piano track that absolutely elevated the song . I will definitely be reaching out to him with future work.
Fast, Professional, Reliable!
Pro piano player. A pleasure to work with.
Leo is an extremely talented pianist! He made the piano for some acoustic versions of my tracks, and they are so beautiful. Thanks Leo!!
Wow, Leo nailed exactly what I needed for my song! Such a pleasure to work with. Super professional and would love to work with him again in the future.
Leo's arrangement of my song was simply exceptional! He beautifully captured the essence of the song, adding his own emotional touch that I absolutely loved. Working with Leo was a true pleasure, and I can't wait to collaborate with him again.
Highly recommended! Thanks, Leo!
Leo is responsive, have good communication skills and most importantly a talented musician who adds the right things to the music which makes it sounds tasteful.
Leo was a joy to work with. I had a piano part in mind for a track I was working on, though I'm a very (below) average player and it sounded a bit robotic and quantized. His playing was outstanding and not only did he give the piano part I had envisioned a beautiful human playing touch, but also provided additional versions with his own improvisations that sparked even more ideas for me. 100% recommend Leo!
Leo is an incredible pianist who wrote an epic piano part for an acoustic version of one of my tracks! Couldn't have imagined it any better. Absolutely brilliant! Very happy I found Leo!
Amazing to work with Leo!
An awesome pianist and VERY coherent. Also I want to thank Leo for his patience. Our project was delayed due to some health related stuff for me. I never felt rushed.
Couldn’t recommend more :)
Interview with Leo Music Design
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Nu Epoque, I just really liked the creativity of the band, the way the ideas flowed and the way we use to play live, with a lot of improvisation and risk. I was the producer, keyboardist and mix engineer.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Some personal projects called "Art.eria", "Leomode", "Jazz Doesn't Like You" and a lot as session pianist, mix and mastering engineer for many artists.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That you'll be 100% happy with the delivery. If you won't I have no problem in keep working on it or cancel the order without charging anything... but in more than 1000 works done in Soundbetter and other platforms that never happened. ;)
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: That is a creative one.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: - Is this work for hire and I'll be the only owner of the recordings? - Yes.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Is there any artist would you like your music to sound like? Would you prefer your music to be completely original and unheard instead?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Try to look for references for the piano/production style that you would like to incorporate in your music. Be as specific as possible in your requests.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Elaquent, Stimming, Kaytranada because they're my favourite producers and I would learn a lot. Also I would like to produce music for artists like Solange, Bjork... because you have to be very creative and experimental.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Here in Soundbetter: Pop Songs, Piano Cover, Electronic Tracks. In my other activities outside Soundbetter: Jazz, Neo Soul, Electronics.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I think it's the piano playing combined with my producer vision, my knowledge and experience about harmony and different type of music.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I carefully listen to the material that the client sends me, along with their references and instructions. Then, I create a chords chart and commence the production/recording process. I typically deliver the complete work directly to ensure the client has a comprehensive understanding. Occasionally, one or multiple revisions are needed to achieve the optimal result. However, in most cases, revisions are unnecessary. When required, I am available to accommodate all the revisions they need, as long as the communication remains coherent, and there are no changes in the client's direction or the material provided. Once the work is completed, we exchange public reviews as part of our collaboration.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Im my acoustically treated studio I work with an iMac connected to a Metric Halo sound interface (LIO8 and ULN2, hi quality A/D converters). I use a Nord Stage 3 piano and other midi controllers for Virtual Instruments (Spectrasonic, Spitfire, Native Instruments etc.). The studio is equipped with hi quality speakers (Klein and Hummel O300) and classic analog compressors: Manley Vari Mu, API2500...
Q: How would you describe your style?
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Oliver for guitars, Shelley for vocals, I've been working nicely with them.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog for texture, character and color, digital for editing, organizing and controlling.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started studying piano at 6. Became a pro jazz musician at 18. Got into electronics and production at 24. Since then I've been making a living on music. I'm 40 now.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Whatever the client ask for filtered through my vision and style. I try to make things alive and organic, authentic.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Robert Glasper, Kiefer, Stimming, &Me, Kaytranada, Erykah Badu, Morricone, Einaudi...
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Piano arrangement for a song, backing piano for vocals, sometimes adding strings and other instruments. Piano covers.
