KAYDEN on SoundBetter

I turn raw ideas into fully produced, radio-ready records from start to finish. 200M+ streams across Spotify, Apple Music & YouTube. I specialize in taking songs from rough demo to polished release — production, lyric crafting, vocal recording, editing, and mixing all handled in-house with radio-quality results.

I’m a full-stack music creator based in Costa Mesa, CA. With over 200 million total streams, 5 albums, and 100+ released songs, I’ve built a sound that blends emotional songwriting with clean, dynamic production.
Whether you need help building a song from scratch, tightening a mix, or elevating a vocal performance, I handle every part of the process — writing, producing, editing, recording, and mixing — until it sounds ready for release.

I work in Logic Pro and focus on creating professional, streaming-ready tracks that stand out across all platforms. My goal is simple: make your music sound like you, but elevated.

Let’s build something incredible together.

Interview with KAYDEN

  1. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  2. A: Most artists ask about revisions or tweaks, and my answer is always: of course. Every song evolves through collaboration, and I want the artist to love every detail. Each track feels like its own experience, and I enjoy that every song has a different emotional fingerprint.

  3. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  4. A: People sometimes assume I only handle one part of the process — like production or mixing — when in reality I can build a record entirely from scratch. I often start with nothing but a lyric, voice memo, or feeling and take it all the way to a fully finished, radio-ready song.

  5. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  6. A: I usually ask about their timeline, budget, and song ownership/splits up front so everything’s transparent. Then I dig into their goals for the track — whether they’re aiming for streaming, sync placement, or a personal release. Understanding that helps me tailor the sound and mix perfectly.

  7. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  8. A: Be super clear with your vision and references. The more specific you are about what you want your song to feel and sound like — including which parts of your reference tracks you love — the smoother and faster the process will be. A clear creative direction always leads to the best final product.

  9. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  10. A: A large solar generator for power, my MacBook Pro (with charger), a Neumann U87, a Universal Audio Apollo Twin X, a MIDI keyboard, and an acoustic guitar. That’s all I’d need to write, record, and produce even in the middle of nowhere.

  11. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  12. A: I’ve been creating music for over 10 years, starting from my bedroom and growing into a full-time, self-sustained career as a songwriter, producer, and artist. For the past 8 years, I’ve been completely self-employed, building a catalog of over 100 released songs and earning more than 200 million streams across Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube. Everything I’ve learned has come from passion, trial and error, and a relentless love for turning emotion into sound.

  13. Q: How would you describe your style?

  14. A: My sound lives where pop meets indie and singer-songwriter emotion. Every track starts from a real feeling — cinematic layers, heartfelt lyrics, and modern production that feels clean but still human. I want my mixes to make people feel something before they even realize why.

  15. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  16. A: I’d love to work with Post Malone, Justin Bieber, John Bellion, or Noah Kahan — artists who blend raw emotion with genreless production. They’re not afraid to be vulnerable, and that honesty makes their records timeless. I love the balance between cinematic energy and human imperfection, and that’s exactly the space I try to create in my own work.

  17. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  18. A: When you’ve got a song idea you love but it starts feeling overplayed or stale, try pitching it up or down a few semitones. Hearing your own work in a new key can completely change the emotion and energy — it’s like rediscovering the song from a different perspective. That trick has saved more sessions than any plugin ever could.

  19. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  20. A: I mostly work on pop, alt-pop, R&B, and cinematic pop — music that’s emotional but still polished and modern. I love creating records that feel intimate one moment and huge the next, with the same attention to vocal detail you’d hear on today’s biggest streaming releases.

  21. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  22. A: Translating emotion into sound. I’m great at taking an idea that exists in someone’s head — a lyric, a melody, or even just a mood — and turning it into a fully produced record that feels cohesive and alive. My strength is balancing creative instinct with technical precision in every stage: production, vocal work, and mixing.

  23. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  24. A: I bring clarity, emotion, and energy — the balance of artistry and technical precision. I’m not just mixing frequencies; I’m sculpting a feeling. My goal is always to elevate the artist’s vision while keeping their authenticity intact. Whether it’s building atmosphere, enhancing dynamics, or fine-tuning vocals, I make sure every element hits with purpose and emotion.

  25. Q: What's your typical work process?

  26. A: Every project starts with understanding the artist’s vision — I listen to their references, their emotions behind the song, and what they want it to feel like. From there, I’ll start with core production (drums, chords, and vibe), move into vocal tracking and tuning, then handle detailed editing and mixing to make everything sound cohesive and dynamic. Communication is constant — I send updates, gather feedback, and tweak until the song feels 100% right.

  27. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  28. A: My setup is a hybrid of precision and creativity — centered around Logic Pro with a Neumann U87 Ai running through a Universal Audio Apollo x Twin Gen 2 interface. I monitor through Genelec 8040s, using Mogami Platinum cabling for ultra-clean signal flow. The space is fully treated with custom acoustic panels, designed for accurate mixing and a calm creative vibe. It’s built to move fast, stay inspired, and deliver professional quality mixes.

  29. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  30. A: I’m inspired by artists and producers who balance emotion with precision — people like Justin Bieber, FINNEAS, Jon Bellion, Lauv, Billie Eilish, Post Malone, Forrest Frank, and The Weeknd. I also draw influence from film composers like Hans Zimmer for the way they build atmosphere and emotion through sound. My style lives where cinematic energy meets pop songwriting.

  31. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  32. A: I help artists bring their songs to life from concept to completion — production, recording, editing, and mixing all handled under one roof. Most of my clients come to me with a rough idea or demo, and I turn it into a polished, release-ready record that sounds great on all platforms. Whether it’s a full production or a final mix, I focus on keeping the emotion and energy of the song intact.
