Interview with John Cokisler
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I like mixing because it is essentially enhancing the vision of the artist. I just make the message stronger.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Bounce your tracks with .wav format. DO NOT export with mp3!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Practice your parts until you nail it at every tempo. No take can be made better in the post production. Only a good take can be enhanced.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First, I listen to the song. In the second listen, I take notes. The first step is drums and bass. And the second step is vocal balance. The third step is the others!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Warren Huart, Dave Pensado, Chris Lord Alge and many others!
