Q: What's your typical work process?

A: My workflow is highly efficient and designed to take a track from a raw idea to a polished, release-ready master using my specific studio layout: 1. Conception & Scratch Track: I start at the Upright Piano or Acoustic Guitar to flesh out the core melody, chords, and song structure. 2. The Recording Session: Once the framework is set, the client steps up to the artist's microphone while I use my own microphone to guide them, track harmonies, and direct the vocal performance. 3. Arrangement & Production: Moving to my laptop and dual screen monitors, I build the track's sonic world—programming the drums, dialing in synths, and arranging the instruments using my mixing/mastering keyboard for expressive MIDI automation. 4. Mixing & Mastering: I split my DAW workspace across both monitors to meticulously balance frequencies, compress vocals, and optimize the low-end energy on my calibrated speaker system so the track sounds massive on all streaming platforms.

A: My studio setup is streamlined for high-performance workflow and pristine audio capture: Production Hub: A powerful laptop with dual screen monitors to keep my DAW arrangement on one screen and plugins or video feeds on the other. Keys & Control: A dedicated mixing and mastering keyboard for automation and MIDI control, plus an Upright Piano for organic songwriting. Recording & Video: A dual-mic setup featuring one microphone for me and one dedicated microphone for an artist coming to record, paired with a webcam for remote client sessions. Monitoring: A high-fidelity speaker system calibrated to ensure mixes translate perfectly to global streaming platforms. Instruments: An Acoustic Guitar always within reach to quickly sketch chord progressions and layer raw acoustic textures.

A: Sai Abhyankkar, Sai Smriti, Sublahshini, Anirudh, and The Weeknd. Here is how this specific line-up drives my inspiration as a producer 1. The New Wave of Tamil Indie Pop: Sai Abhyankkar & Sai Smriti: What Sai Abhyankkar has done with massive, viral independent tracks like "Katchi Sera", "Aasa Kooda", and "Radhimaa" is a masterclass in modern composition. Alongside his sister Sai Smriti's effortless, melodic vocal layers, they prove you don’t need a massive film soundtrack to dominate the charts. As a producer, I look at how Abhyankkar smoothly injects jazz, blues, and funk sensibilities into electronic dance rhythms while keeping the native lilt of the language perfectly intact. It’s that exact bounce and infectious vocal arrangement that I strive to capture. 2. The Grit, Vocal Power, and Versatility: Sublahshini: Sublahshini represents the absolute peak of vocal adaptability in the current independent and playback scenes. From her early indie fusion work like "Kaathadi" to explosive, multilingual global bops like "Monica" with Anirudh, her voice carries this rare combination of soul, grit, and bold pop energy. She inspires me as a producer to push vocal boundaries—reminding me that a vocal track shouldn’t just follow a beat, it should aggressively shape the dynamic of the song. 3. The Unstoppable Soundscapes: Anirudh Ravichander: Anirudh is the blueprint for anyone wanting to blend heavy global music trends with regional sounds. His production style is completely fearless—he will casually throw a massive trap beat, a heavy EDM drop, or a synthwave baseline right into a commercial track and make it sound completely natural. The sheer punch of his mixes, the way his basslines cut through a speaker, and his unmatched understanding of high-energy pacing are things I study every time I sit down to arrange a track. 4. The Atmospheric Dark Pop: The Weeknd Where the local artists bring the bounce, melody, and rhythm, Abel brings the mood, late-night atmosphere, and cinematic textures. The Weeknd’s dark R&B and retro synthwave production style is a massive anchor for me. I am constantly inspired by his use of ambient reverbs, brooding baseline synths, and the way he builds tension. Fusing that hazy, late-night Toronto aesthetic with the vibrant, rhythmic pop styles of South Asia is the ultimate dream sonic fusion.

A: The most common work I do for my clients focuses on end-to-end music production and bespoke composition, bridging the gap between an artist's raw lyric ideas and a polished, release-ready track. Because the indie scene is incredibly diverse, my projects typically fall into a few key areas: Custom Beats & Instrumental Production: Clients often come to me with a vocal melody or a rough acoustic demo. I build the entire sonic world around it—programming drums, arranging synths, tracking instruments, and structuring the song to fit their unique vibe. Vocal Production & Arrangement: A massive part of my job is making sure the vocals sit perfectly in the mix. I guide artists on harmonies, layer backing vocals, and handle the technical side of vocal tuning and timing to make the performance shine. Multi-Lingual Songwriting & Scoring: Since I work across different languages and cultures, clients frequently look to me to fuse traditional melodic sensibilities with modern, global pop, lo-fi, or hip-hop elements. Mixing & Mastering: Bringing everything together into a clean, punchy, and commercially competitive final master that sounds great on Spotify, Apple Music, and car speakers alike. Ultimately, my goal is always to treat a client's song as if it were my own—giving it that distinct, cinematic indie polish while keeping their original emotional vision intact.
