Born in Kingston, Jamaica on August 29th 1980.
In 1985, church vocal performances was the beginning and early recognition of his dream to entertain.
In 1989 he was forced to relocate to live in the United States
The experience and exposure as an artist and writer led to the next milestone, as he sang and performed back-up for MYA at the 1999 NAACP Awards. Akapello Has had the opportunity of working as a performing artist and writer for Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis new group, The New 5 Era. Although the project was short-lived, the experience was just what he needed.
he continued to remain aggressive in his entertainment career by performing live in a band called the “Superstars” at high schools and night club events. Following one of his performances in 2003, Jackson Brown attended and invited the band to his studio. With Jackson Brown’s guidance,
He produced his first movie soundtrack “Don’t let us go”, for Mini’s First Time. The music was scored for the movie club scene starring Alec Baldwin and Nikki Reed. From 2006 – 2009, Akapello performed live at popular L.A. venues such as BB Kings, the Big Stage and Sean Healy’s. he invested his earnings from the live performances directly into producing his next reggae cross-over album project. 2009-2010, The birth of Akapello, The unwanted immigrant. Producing and owning his masters was his overall goal.

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I worked on a project with Jimmie Jam and Terrie Lewis when I was younger more around 17 and 18 years old was very proud because they used all my songs didn't quite get to release it, but I was very proud of it. Those guys are very talented and made me open up my eyes and see how quickly music can be created.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: At the moment I go live on TikTok Instagram get ready to test out twitch but I do a lot of live performances live virtual paint concerts. I just built the platform and I also now have a live streaming app for Artist.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Not yet currently I am fairly new so if you give me some time, I will have that answer

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital because it's quick, you can cheat and carve out whatever sound you're seeking very fast

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I can get the job done no matter how long it takes. I'm very confident that when I start, we will finish with something like a masterpiece.

  12. A: Being able to do what I love teach people coach people mentour people and perform with my students is something. I really like the most about my job.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: How can I create like you and how long will it take? and I say you can with a good mentour but you need to be very coachable meaning take notes and talk less.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: Music is a business and most people forget to invest in there music as a business

  18. A: What would you like to do different in your music or in your creations.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Trust My process and together we with get some awesome things done.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Water, bread, survival kit, a machine gun, and a jet suit.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I've been doing music for about 28 years now

  26. A: My style is like Akon, Tyrese, and Bob Marley all mixed in one

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I would love to work with Boyz II Men. They're my favorite in the world. I enjoy harmonies to the 10th power and there it.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Turn your Dbs Down to negative 3-5 Before you start recording so after your finish recording, you couldn't bring the levels back up to positive three and you won't hit the ceiling and distort
