25 years of experience, countless tracks — mixing, and mastering done at the highest level.
We are The Gifted, a Los Angeles–based producer, composer, and mixer duo with JUNO and Latin GRAMMY nominations. We’re best known for our work with Tate McRae, Dasha, Kygo, Sophie Simmons, Bishop Briggs, Sam Tinnesz, and Sam Fischer, amassing hundreds of millions of streams.
We’ve been making music for over 25 years — starting out in bands, then moving into production, songwriting, and mixing. We work in Pro Tools through a hybrid analog setup featuring a 16-channel SPL MixDream and outboard bus compression and EQ to add warmth, depth, and space. Our songwriting backgrounds help us approach mixing with a strong sense of musicality — knowing when to let the mix breathe and when to push for something bold.
Our connections to directors, music supervisors, and film/TV producers have led to placements in projects like We Were Liars, YOU, The Resident, Scream, Love Island, Younger, The Big Bang Theory, Netflix’s Pop Star Academy: Katseye, Ready or Not, and more.

Interview with The Gifted
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: We’ve been doing this for about 25 years. We started out playing in bands, then got into production and songwriting before discovering how much we love mixing. There’s something about finding the magic in a song and making the best parts shine that never gets old. Mixing is where we get to be creative, experiment, and lose ourselves in the process — it’s honestly our favorite part of making music.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Leaving headroom and understanding the dynamics of a song are key to achieving a great-sounding mix. That doesn’t mean it can’t be competitively loud — it’s about letting the mix breathe and leaving space for the mastering stage to do its job. We focus on balance, depth, and feel, making sure every mix translates with power and emotion without being over-compressed.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Coming from backgrounds in songwriting and production, we approach mixing with a strong sense of musicality. Understanding the emotion and intent behind a song is half the battle. Some mixes need to feel open and natural; others call for bold, creative choices. Listening deeply to the performance, the production, and the song itself is key to crafting a beautiful mix — something that only comes from years of experience.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: We mix in Pro Tools through a hybrid analog setup to bring depth and character to every project. Our 16-channel SPL MixDream summing mixer adds width, punch, and clarity you can’t get in the box. Every song also runs through an analog master bus chain with high-end compression and EQ for that polished, cohesive finish.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mixing and Mastering
