Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My typical work process begins by listening closely to the client’s demos, references, and inspirations to fully understand their vision. From there, I compose a few short, foundational ideas for the client to choose from. Once we lock in on the direction that excites them most, we build it out together—sharing feedback, exchanging ideas, and staying in close communication until the project feels complete.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I’d say my biggest strength is attention to detail. When I’m working on a song, I get totally focused on making it sound its absolute best. I love finding those small improvements that make a big difference, the little touches that take a good track and make it something special.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Use a reverb calculator to set your pre-delay and reverb time based on your tempo for a more musical sounding reverb!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Other than groovy beats and catchy hooks? I like to bring a creative energy that revolves around enhancing the emotion and imagery of a song by using and manipulating real world sounds. Maybe you want your song to feel like a walk on the beach? Let's try layering some ocean waves under the hi-hats. Maybe you have a song that needs a more industrial vibe? Let's try pitch shifting some reverse metal hits as a riser. The creative possibilities are endless.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Ian Kirkpatrick is my favorite music producer. I learnt a lot watching his live streams and he seems like an all-round great guy!
