An independent mixing engineer who grew listening to Rock and figuring how everything, well, mix! Being from the sound for Cinema, I like to have aesthetic/narrative contexts very clear when I mix: nothing worse than hearing a song where you know when each instrument should talk and that instrument is buried into the mix.
As said, I studied Sound for the Movie context, always studying Music meanwhile. Even though I'm new to Music Production stuff, I know what to aim for from those: as well as the SSE (supervising sound editor) has constant communication with the production, direction etc., I'll maintain that posture with the artists, producers etc.
Speaking in communication: I tend to talk a lot when I'm trying to show ideas. This forced me into becoming more practical when talking about ideas with others: I know how the chaos tries to install itself, so I avoid letting the person who's ideas I'm trying to get get drowned by it...
Jurgen Schuster is a harsh name here in Brazil, so I usually say: "Name's Jurgen, but you can call me Guga", and so do you! Jorge DaLapa is my artistic name. Telling you this because I believe we should at least know some minimal thing when we work with music. That's even more true due to the 'remote' setting: we won't spend time together in studio or even hang out after work!
