Hi, I’m a vocalist who loves bringing emotion and energy into songs. My style is influenced by ska, punk, swing, country, pop, rock and more, enjoy singing softer and melodic parts when the song calls for it. I’m easy to work with, open to feedback, and will always do my best to make sure the vocals fit your vision. I’d be happy to collaborate.
I’m a vocalist who enjoys working on songs that carry feeling and energy. My influences include ska, punk, swing, and classic alternative, but I’m open to exploring different styles depending on the project. I care about helping artists find the right vocal sound for their music, whether that’s strong and upbeat or more soft and emotional.
I record from home with professional equipment and can provide clean, ready-to-use vocal tracks. Want to make sure you’re happy with the final result. Collaboration is my favorite part of music, and I’d be glad to bring your ideas to life.
Vocals influenced by Blondie, No Doubt, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Belinda Carlisle, the Judds and more with a mix of vintage and modern tones. You can hear my vocals on The Skate Betties, The Scooterz and more.

Interview with Misty Hawk Hosni
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One project I’m especially proud of is Masquerade of Truth with The Skate Betties, where I contributed lead vocals, harmonies, and songwriting to shape the album’s unique ska-rock and swing sound. It’s meaningful because it reflects years of passion, collaboration, and creative growth. I’m also proud of my touring days with The Scooterz — playing CBGBs, recording at Westlake Studios in California, and opening for The Human League in Colorado — experiences that shaped me as a performer and artist.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Voice overs about 2 times a week. Slowly working on another album.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I have used a mix of both analog and digital tools because each has strengths. Analog gear brings warmth and character to recordings, while digital tools give precision, flexibility, and fast workflow — together they create the best of both worlds. If using professional home studio I am using digital, smaller space faster turn around and compatible.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise to clients is to bring passion, care, and professionalism to every project. I’ll listen closely to your vision, deliver high-quality vocals, and work with you until the results feel right.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: What I love most about my job is bringing songs to life and helping artists express their vision. Singing allows me to connect emotionally with music and collaborate with others to create something meaningful.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Clients most often ask about my turnaround time, the style and tone of my vocals, file formats I provide, whether revisions are included, and how I approach interpreting their vision. I answer by explaining my process, offering examples, and making sure we’re aligned before recording.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: A common misconception is that singing is just about hitting the right notes. In reality, it’s about interpreting the song, delivering emotion, and creating a performance that connects with listeners — which takes skill, experience, and attention to detail.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: When working with new clients, I usually ask about the style and mood they want for the song, any reference tracks they like, the intended use of the vocals, preferred file format, and the project timeline. This helps me deliver exactly what they’re imagining.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: When looking for a vocalist, listen to samples carefully to see if the tone and style match your vision. Communication is key — share references, feelings, and goals for the track. Choose someone who is open to collaboration and responsive, so your song truly comes to life.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: If I were on a desert island with just five pieces of gear, I’d bring my Audio-Technica AT4040 microphone, Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 interface, a quality set of studio headphones (like the beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro), a portable MIDI keyboard (Akai MPK Mini), and a laptop with DAW software. That setup would let me keep creating music anywhere.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Career Path: I’ve been singing for many years, starting in top show choirs and performing professionally. From 2004 to 2008, I toured and recorded with professional ensembles. Now in 2025, I record albums and voice overs from my home studio, bringing passion and experience to every project.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style blends emotion, energy, and versatility. I draw from ska, punk, swing, and alternative influences to deliver vocals that are expressive, dynamic, and tailored to each song’s vision.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I’d love to work with an artist like No Doubt because their music blends energy, emotion, and personality in a way that inspires me. Collaborating with someone who brings such creativity would be a great opportunity to grow and create something memorable. I’m also inspired by Wynonna Judd, Blondie, Adele, and the B-52s for their unique voices and styles.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: One tip I always follow is to record vocals in a quiet space with proper monitoring and a good pop filter — this keeps takes clean and saves time in editing. Capturing emotion in the performance is just as important as technical quality.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on indie, ska, punk, swing, rock, country and alternative music, but I enjoy exploring a variety of styles. I focus on delivering vocals that match the emotion and energy of each song.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is delivering vocals that connect emotionally while fitting the style of the song. I take care to match tone, energy, and expression so the vocals enhance the track and bring the artist’s vision to life.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring emotion, clarity, and personality to a song. My goal is to deliver vocals that not only sound polished but also connect with listeners, adding depth and character that enhance the overall feel of the track.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My typical process starts with listening to the client’s references and understanding their vision. I set up my home studio, record lead or backing vocals with care, and deliver clean takes. I then review the work, make revisions if needed, and send the final tracks in the client’s preferred format.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I record from my home studio, which is designed for clean, high-quality vocals. My setup includes an Audio-Technica AT4040 cardioid condenser microphone with pop filter and shockmount, Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 4th Gen interface, Akai MPK Mini MK3 MIDI keyboard, beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro headphones, Yamaha HS5 studio monitors, Mogami balanced cables, and a DAW setup including Ableton and BandLab. This allows me to deliver professional recordings for a variety of styles.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspired by artists who bring personality, emotion, and originality to their music. Vocally, I draw inspiration from Blondie, No Doubt, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Belinda Carlisle. I’m also inspired by producers who balance technical skill with creativity to bring a song’s vision to life.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I can provide lead and backing vocals for indie, ska, punk, swing, and alternative projects and more. My work includes recording clean takes, harmonies, and creating vocals that fit the style and vision of the song.
