I’m J — guitarist, producer, and A&R with over 10 years of experience in the music industry. My passion is two-fold: crafting guitar parts that inspires production/songwriting, and helping artists unlock their full musical journey through mentorship and guidance.
As a guitarist, I specialize in both electric and acoustic textures — hooking into genres from R&B, indie, folk, to pop, ambient and experimental. Whether you need rhythm part, melodic leads, ambient layers, or stripped-down acoustic framing, I bring commitment to tone, dynamics, and serving the song.

Interview with j.valle
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I worked on Snoh Aalegra's single "Fool For You" in 2017 as production/musician. I'm really proud of that record because it was organic & effortless. Seeing the development of that song from beginning to end & witnessing the writing process was an amazing experience. Very proud of that moment.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog just feels better
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is authentic, intentional, & intuitive — a blend of strategy and feel. I approach music with the curiosity of an artist and the clarity of a producer, shaping ideas through space, tone, and emotion. There’s a sense of less is more in my work: every chord, texture, and rhythm has purpose. Genre wise — R&B, soul, hip-hop, and alternative are my staples. My guitar work and arrangement choices often act as the emotional anchor, giving songs warmth and human touch.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I’d love to work with SZA and Frank Ocean. Their artistry constantly inspires me, and it would be an honor to contribute to their creative worlds.I also feel we share a similar frequency as far as taste, tone, and emotion that drives honest, timeless music. Aligning with them in any capacity would be something truly special.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Follow the feeling.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: R&B, indie, Hip-Hop, atmospheric, sound design, faith-based
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I'd say my strongest skill is intuition.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a mix of experience and child-like curiosity — a pressure-free energy that encourages creative exploration. My background in songwriting and music theory helps guide arrangement choices, but I also love the “throw paint on the wall” approach and then sculpting back to what best serves the song. I believe the best songs often write themselves; my role is to help that process unfold naturally, keeping things simple and intentional.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Depends on the session. If i'm in the room with an artist, it usually starts with a conversation that eventually leads to noodling around on instruments until one idea sparks some inspiration. The process is similar if im tracking to a record remotely, only now I'm playing through several guitar tones/textures finding one that matches the vibe of the song.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: UA Apollo x4. x6. YAMAHA NS10. several guitar pedals & plugins.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: HER. Michael Jackson. Santana. Rick Rubin. Pharrell. D'Angelo. Robert Glasper. Terrace Martin. Dark Child. Jordan Manswell.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Guitar progressions that spark songwriting & full production inspiration. Song arrangement. Songwriting. Textures & layer addition to existing production. Full to additional production. Creative mentorship & coaching. Artist Development strategy & catalog management.
