Interview with Haumea
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Deconstructing existing tracks to understand what makes them unique
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I love searching for the lead. I put a lot of myself into a track, and since I don’t have a fixed way of working, it often leads to surprising results.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I love starting from a topline, but I prefer it when the client provides simple piano chords and a rough piano/vocal recording (even just a simple phone video or demo) so I can really absorb the energy of the track.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I usually start composing the beginning of an arrangement based on the client's vision, then see where to take it after their initial feedback. I leave the mixing and mastering to someone else, but I generally deliver clean stems.
