Gospel/Hip-Hop Rapper/Bassist

London Artis on SoundBetter

I make music that you feel.

As a artist who has been creating music for over 10 years, I have quickly learned about my identify and my authenticity in the music scene. I am a Christian Artist who has the capacity to write songs, lyrics and basslines for your project, rather that be in the gospel genre or in the hip-hop genre. All of my music is clean, I do not use profanity or vulgar language, and I would primarily consider myself a poet. I have a different level of lyricism when it comes down to creating songs. As far as our basslines, I create them with passion and authority. I don't just play (or write) just to play (or write), it has to make sense to me and it has to have meaning in order for me to feel the track and produce the best outcome required. Music isn't a fade for me, it is my purpose and I personally believe that I can execute the needs of the project at hand with the creative gifts and abilities God gave me.

Interview with London Artis

  1. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  2. A: I came here from her videos, so I am grateful she showed me this avenue. Her name is Breana Marin.

  3. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  4. A: What's the turnaround time? My answer is usually a week depending on what the project calls for.

  5. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  6. A: The advice I would give is to remember who you are. Being your authentic self is so much better than chasing a path that isn't meant for you.

  7. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  8. A: Honestly I would just take a notepad and a pencil. Being on an Island and experiencing the freeness of you, the wind, the water, the sound of the night and day, etc, is a thing of beauty to me. It allows me to sit and create/meditate with God.

  9. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  10. A: I would like to work with Cleo Sol, Sondae, Madison Ryann Ward, Alex Isley, Ruva, Sxxnt., Gabriel Jacoby, Ash Leone and Claudia Isaki. I love their sound and how they create their music.

  11. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  12. A: My studio set up is really dope to me. I have a Victus gaming laptop, Ableton as my DAW, A pair of JBL MK 2 Series 3 speakers, A Volt interface and an AT 2020 mic.

  13. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  14. A: The most common type of work I do is audio editing. I work with my church and assist them in enhancing the audio for our announcements.

  15. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  16. A: I am proud of a project that I created a while ago where everything was composed and written by myself. There was no order in which the songs were created and there wasn't a theme that I was trying to hit. Over the course of 3 Months, God gave me ideas for songs and we started to create and compose them. Once I finished the last song, he told that I had a full 7 Ep project about love that I was unaware I was writing about. I treat everything with a blank canvas so each song was painted separately from the last with no intention on connecting them. Once God told me that the 7 songs I've been creating (out of order by the way) was a love project, my mind was blown and it also made me realize that I can compose, produce, write, and arrange a full length project myself.

  17. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  18. A: I am working on being a better artist

  19. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  20. A: I like analog due to it being a lot more hands on than digital.

  21. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  22. A: My Promise is that I will give you the best version of me on every project.

  23. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  24. A: The thing I like the most is knowing that there are other people out there who enjoys what we create. To me that's dope and exciting. Especially when they want to hear more.

  25. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  26. A: That it comes quickly at the snap of a finger, when in reality I personally have to live life in order to perform my best in my creativity. This gives the song a more authentic and natural feel. I can only write about what I've experienced.

  27. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  28. A: What is your vision with the song

  29. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  30. A: I've been doing music for over 10 years and plan on continuing to share what God placed in me to help and heal those who may seem lost, hurt, or alone. My music is made to inspire and build up, planting seeds of growth and hope.

  31. Q: How would you describe your style?

  32. A: I would describe my style as very unique lyricism with poetry being the influence on how it's shaped and crafted.

  33. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  34. A: One tip I would share is always be yourself when creating. There's a story about your life, what you've been through or even what you ate today, we just have to find a creative way to express it through the avenues we take when creating.

  35. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  36. A: Hip-Hop and R&B while learning more about Gospel and Jazz

  37. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  38. A: My creativity

  39. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  40. A: I bring a blank canvas to a song. What this simply means is that with every project I do, I treat it as a blank canvas. There's no pre determined ideas, no thoughts of what I want to speak or write about, or even what Direction I will eventually end up going in. I sit, listen to the song, meditate on how it makes me feel, pray about the process and develop in which we will approach it, then come up with ideas and go from there. Music is literal art to me so I try to paint a different picture everytime.

  41. Q: What's your typical work process?

  42. A: My typical work process consist of me learning about music theory, ear training, practicing my instruments, writing, and composing. All of this sometimes are in one day, but mostly this process spans out over the week. My thought process is to not let one slip away too far, so I try to make it a habit to practice each everyday even if it's for 10mins.

  43. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  44. A: I am inspired by Jazz, Gospel, and Hip-hop. I enjoy listening to music that can move you and have so much soul to it.
