What impressed me the most is Hernan’s versatility. We worked on a pop track and later on something more electronic, and in both cases the result was industry level.

I contacted Hernan from Australia with only a rough idea and a few references. He turned that into a fully produced track that sounded incredible. The process was smooth despite the time zone difference — Thanks!

Interview with Hssmusica

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: The project I’m most proud of, which I’ve been developing for a year, is called UHAF. I produce and arrange all the music, combining live instruments with electronic sounds to create a fresh, organic approach to house music. It’s rewarding to see it gaining recognition and connecting with listeners globally

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I work full-time as a music producer, collaborating with artists in my studio, providing remote production for clients worldwide, and contributing to TV projects in my country.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I don't have any personal contacts at SoundBetter. I'm really new here, so I can't make individual recommendations. However, I can help you identify the best professionals or guide you in choosing the most suitable one for your project.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: 80% digital 20% analog most of the time. But that depends directly on the sound the artist is going for and also the budget.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: My promise to clients is to provide clear, reliable, and thoughtful support every time—delivering solutions or guidance that are accurate, actionable, and tailored to their needs, with patience and professionalism.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: What I like most about my job is helping people turn ideas into something concrete—whether it’s solving a tricky problem, creating content, or exploring new knowledge. It’s like being a guide and collaborator at the same time.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Most clients ask: Can you turn my vocal idea into a full track? My answer is always yes — I specialize in building complete productions from simple demos, delivering a fully mixed and mastered song ready for release

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: Many people think music production is just about mixing sounds together. In reality, it’s a creative partnership — shaping a vision, guiding the artist, and making decisions that bring emotion and identity to the song

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I usually ask about their artistic vision, references, and goals for the song. I want to understand what inspires them, the vibe they’re aiming for, and how they imagine the final track sounding once it’s released.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Look for someone who listens carefully to your vision and communicates clearly. A good producer should not only deliver high-quality sound but also make you feel supported and involved throughout the process

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Guitar, my macbook, my portable sound card, my cellphone and my dog (she is part of my studio)

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I started playing guitar at 8 years old and later became a multi-instrumentalist. Over the past 20 years I’ve worked as a producer, musician, and mixing engineer, collaborating with Warner and delivering 400+ projects worldwide. Music has been my full-time career for two decades

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: My style is a blend of organic and electronic. I combine live instruments with modern sound design, creating tracks that are emotional, dynamic, and polished, always aiming for a balance between warmth and innovation

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Dua Lipa. I just love her :)

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: As I mentioned earlier, I have a lot of resources to choose from, but less is more. Leave space in the mix; don't overdo it. A simple, well-placed element can have more impact than adding too many layers.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Pop, Hip-Hop, House and Afro House. I enjoy working across genres and bringing influences together to create fresh, original productions.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Turning raw ideas into polished, professional songs that sound ready for release — combining creativity, technical mixing/mastering skills, and strong communication with the artist. Besides that, I have been a guitarist since I was 8 years old.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring both technical expertise and musicality. Being a multi-instrumentalist, I add an organic touch that blends with modern production, making each track unique and emotionally engaging.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I start by discussing the client's vision and references, then build the arrangement and instrumentation. I share updates at key stages (production, mix, master) so the artist is always involved. My goal is a collaborative workflow that ensures the track matches their artistic identity.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: My studio is located on the seafront in Argentina. It's equipped with a hybrid setup that combines analog warmth with digital precision. I use Studio One as my main DAW and a large number of plugins. I don't use many of them in every production; in reality, I'm quite austere, but I like to experiment and choose which sound or texture to choose depending on the song I'm producing.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I'm inspired by artists and producers who blend musicality with innovation, who appeal to the soul of music. I don't like to name names; the list would be too long.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I usually take a simple vocal demo or reference track and turn it into a full production, mixed and mastered, ready for release. Many artists come to me with just an idea, and I help them shape it into a professional song.
