I write emotionally powerful, melody-driven songs that help artists turn real feelings into records people actually live with. I specialize in hooks, verses, and full songs rooted in honesty, depth, and modern sound, without sounding generic or forced. One of my personal favorite type of songs to write are love songs, but i'm forever versatile.
I’m a songwriter and artist who treats music as translation, turning emotion, memory, and intention into records that feel honest, timeless, and lived-in.
My writing blends melodic rap, R&B sensitivity, and introspective storytelling. I focus on clarity, feeling, and flow, making sure every line sounds natural and intentional. I don’t write filler. I help artists say what they actually mean, not what sounds trendy for a moment.
Artists work with me when they have a feeling but can’t quite put it into words, when they want lyrics that feel real, or when they need melodies that stick without feeling forced. I care deeply about voice and identity, because the best songs don’t just sound good, they feel personal.
I can help with full song writing, hooks and choruses, verses (rap or melodic), song concepts, and rewriting or polishing existing demos. My process is collaborative and intuitive. I take time to understand who you are, what you’re trying to express, and the emotion behind the record.
I have deep love and respect for music and for every artist brave enough to create. I honor the process, the vulnerability, and the courage it takes to share your voice. If I work on your song, I’ll treat it with care, patience, and genuine respect for your art.

Interview with Izel
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One project I’m especially proud of is my EP Sincerely, Izel. It was a deeply loving and personal body of work that included love songs, spiritual reflections, and honest self expression. I wrote from a very vulnerable place and allowed myself to be fully seen. That project taught me the power of sincerity, and it also inspired me to keep growing by challenging myself to write from perspectives beyond my own, which continues to sharpen me as a writer.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I’m constantly writing. If I’m not writing, I’m recording. If I’m not recording, I’m listening. Music is part of my daily life. I consume and create every day, and I’m always sharpening my ear, my pen, and my understanding of sound and emotion.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I’m still new to SoundBetter and getting familiar with the community here. I wouldn’t want to recommend someone I don’t personally know or haven’t worked with yet, but I’m open to discovering and collaborating with others over time.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. We live in a digital world, and digital tools allow ideas to move freely and quickly. What matters most to me is capturing the feeling in the moment, and digital gives me the flexibility to write, record, revise, and experiment without breaking the flow. The soul isn’t in the gear, it’s in the intention.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to treat your story with care. I will listen deeply, work with intention, and show up fully for the music we’re creating. I don’t see myself as the center of the process. I’m here to help bring your voice forward and honor what you’re trying to express.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love helping people feel seen and heard. There’s something powerful about watching someone recognize their own truth in a song. Being part of that moment, where emotion turns into art, is what keeps me doing this.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: People often ask if I can match a certain style or vibe. My answer is yes, but my goal is always to help them sound like themselves. Trends come and go, but authenticity lasts. The best songs feel personal, even when they’re simple.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That songwriting is just about words and melodies. For me, it’s about listening, understanding, and translating emotion into music. The technical side matters, but the human connection is what gives a song its life.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I ask what they want the song to feel like, not just how they want it to sound. I want to know what the song means to them, what inspired it, and who they’re speaking to. I also ask how involved they want to be in the process so we can move in alignment from the start.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Come with honesty and openness. You don’t need to have everything figured out or perfectly articulated. The more real you are about what you’re feeling and what you want to express, the easier it is to create something meaningful together. Music works best when trust is present on both sides.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My laptop with Logic Pro, a reliable microphone, a simple audio interface, a good pair of headphones, and a quiet space to think. If I can hear clearly and feel something, I can make a song anywhere.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I’ve been writing music for over 15 years, learning through practice, repetition, and real life. My path has been self built and experience driven, shaped by listening deeply, writing constantly, and growing through both wins and mistakes. Music has always been a place where I tell the truth.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is emotionally driven, melodic, and honest. I focus on feeling, phrasing, and space. I care about how words sit in the pocket and how a melody makes someone feel in their body, not just how it sounds on paper.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don’t chase perfection on the first take. Capture the feeling first. A vocal with real emotion will always connect more than a technically perfect take with no soul. You can clean things up later, but you can’t fake honesty.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on hip hop, R&B, and melodic records that center emotion and mood. I love writing love songs most, but I’m comfortable creating across many perspectives and energies, from introspective and vulnerable to confident and expressive. As long as there’s feeling, I can work with it.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is top line writing. I have a natural instinct for melody, hooks, and phrasing, and I’m especially strong at translating real emotion into lyrics that feel genuine and relatable. I aim to make songs that connect, not just perform.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring emotional awareness, perspective, and intention. Love songs are my favorite to write because they allow vulnerability, tenderness, and truth, but I’m able to create from a wide range of perspectives and moods. I treat every song with care and respect, because music is personal, and I never forget that.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start by listening carefully to the artist and the feeling they’re trying to express. From there, I write melodies and lyrics that match the emotional core of the track. I’m collaborative, open to feedback, and patient with the process. I care more about the song feeling right than rushing to finish.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work primarily in Logic Pro on Mac with a clean, focused home recording setup. My space is built for comfort and clarity so ideas can flow naturally. The goal is always to capture emotion first, keep the process simple, and remove anything that gets in the way of creativity.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspired by artists and creators who lead with feeling, vulnerability, and intention. I’m drawn to music that feels lived in, soulful, and emotionally present. The people who inspire me most understand that simplicity, restraint, and honesty often hit harder than overdoing it.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I help artists turn emotion into songs. Most of my work is top line writing, melodies, hooks, verses, and concepts built over existing beats. I focus on helping artists say what they actually feel, not just what sounds good, and shaping songs that feel honest, intentional, and complete.
