LZKMUSIC on SoundBetter

Your music deserves more than balance, it deserves character. I mix Hip-Hop, R&B, and House with depth, warmth, and punch so every beat hits and every vocal shines. From Johannesburg, I help artists turn raw ideas into professional, soulful mixes that translate anywhere — club, radio, or streaming.

Hey, I’m LZKMUSIC — a sound engineer and mixer based in Johannesburg, South Africa, passionate about creating clean, powerful, and emotionally engaging sound. I specialize in Hip-Hop, R&B, House and Podcast Mixing/Cleaning, blending technical precision with musical feel to make every track hit hard while staying smooth and soulful.

Over the years, I’ve worked with independent artists, producers, and labels, helping them transform raw ideas into release-ready records. My approach is simple — clarity, balance, and groove. Whether it’s tightening your low end, bringing warmth and shine to vocals, or giving your mix that final professional punch, I treat every project with the same care and focus as my own.

Every artist has a unique story and sound — my job is to make sure yours connects. I believe in open communication, creative collaboration, and delivering results that exceed expectations. I’ll work closely with you to understand your vision and bring it to life in the mix.

If you’re looking for a sound that’s clean but still moves with real energy and emotion, let’s collaborate and take your music to the next level. Clean Mixes. Dirty Grooves. Always.

Interview with LZKMUSIC

  1. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  2. A: One of my favorite tips: leave space in your mix. Not every sound needs to fill the spectrum. The best songs hit hard because they breathe, every instrument and vocal has its place, and silence becomes part of the rhythm.

  3. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  4. A: I specialize in hip hop, R&B, and house, blending warm, modern production with clean, dynamic mixes. I love bringing out the groove, emotion, and vibe in every track, whether it’s a soulful vocal performance, a hard-hitting rap, or a dance-floor-ready beat.

  5. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  6. A: My strongest skill is blending technical precision with creativity. Whether it’s hip hop, R&B, or house, I know how to bring out the right textures, warmth, and punch that make a track stand out on streaming platforms and in the club.

  7. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  8. A: I bring clarity, balance, and emotion to every song. My goal is to make each track sound polished and industry-ready without losing the artist’s original energy. I focus on enhancing what’s already great, tightening the mix, highlighting key moments, and making sure the record connects with listeners on every platform.

  9. Q: What's your typical work process?

  10. A: I like to start by talking with the artist to understand their sound and what feeling they want listeners to have. I also listen closely to their references if one is sent and once, I receive the stems, I clean, balance, and shape the mix, making sure the vocals and beat connect naturally. I send a preview, take notes from the artist, and tweak until it feels perfect. It’s a back-and-forth process built on communication and creativity.

  11. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  12. A: I work out of a treated home studio that’s designed for creative flow and high-quality results. I use studio monitors and headphones for reference and produce in Studi One and Pro Tools at times. I rely on Waves, FabFilter, iZotope, and other little secret sauce plugins to make sure every mix sounds clean, full, and ready for release.

  13. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  14. A: I draw inspiration from producers who bring emotion and atmosphere into every mix, Young Guru, Dr Dre, Timbaland, 40, and Kaytranada are big influences. I love how they balance clean sonics with real feeling, something I try to bring to every project I work on.

  15. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  16. A: I mainly handle full song mixing and mastering for hip hop, R&B, and house artists, making sure each record hits hard, translates well on all systems, and stands out sonically. My goal is to bring every artist’s vision to life and deliver industry-quality sound.
