Hi, I’m Ezra — a mixing and mastering engineer dedicated to helping artists achieve release-ready music that connects. I hold a degree in Audio Engineering and have 5+ years of experience mixing and producing. I’ve worked in professional studios, Farmhouse Studios (TN), and was lead engineer at Hume Lake Studios (CA). I recently relocated to San Diego to focus on my home studio and am excited to connect with new clients.

My primary service is mixing and mastering — whether you send stems or full projects, I’ll take your tracks from raw recordings to polished mixes that translate across every platform. I deliver projects via Dropbox to keep session history clean and offer unlimited revisions to ensure the final product reflects your vision. Turnaround is typically within a week, as I do this full-time.

In my home studio, I work in Logic for mixing/production and Pro Tools for recording/editing/mastering. I use UAD plugins for analog character, monitor with Yamaha HS7s, and have treated my room with acoustic panels I built myself for accurate results.

Why do I do this? Because the best productions come from collaboration. Ezra, meaning “helper,” is my approach to every project: to help your song win. If you want a clear, powerful, and balanced sound paired with open communication, I’d love to work with you.

Interview with Ezra Scott

  1. Q: What's your typical work process?

  2. A: Everything starts with the song — a great song always shines over a great mix. From there, I’ll pull one or two reference tracks to guide the direction and set up my mix bus to get the overall balance sitting right. Once the foundation is solid, I shape the track with panning, EQ, and compression, which gets us about 80–90% of the way there. The final 10% is where the magic happens: effects, special techniques, and automation that bring out the emotion and make the mix feel alive. I’ve developed this process over the last couple of years, and it consistently delivers mixes that sound great.

  3. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  4. A: I do all my work in my home studio which I took time to professionally treat specifically for mixing and recording purposes. I've worked on a variety of monitors from previous studios and setups, but the Yamaha HS7's are what I use as they helped me make the most out of mixing.

  5. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  6. A: I've worked with both small artists one-on-one and bands; from writing into recording, mixing intto mastering, I take a song from start to finish. Now having an independent recording studio has opened me to me more flexible with the type of artist I work with!
