Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: The biggest misconception is that music production is simply about adding sounds.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: I had the opportunity to work as a guitarist on Funke Akindele’s cinema movie Behind the Scenes. It was a great experience contributing my musicianship to a major Nigerian film production and being part of a project that achieved significant success at the box office.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: I’m currently working offline with a Gospel artist on an Afro House track, combining soulful musical elements with an energetic Afro House groove.

Q: Analog or digital and why?

A: Digital, because it gives me the flexibility to experiment, edit, arrange, and create quickly while keeping the workflow efficient. I still love the warmth and character of analog sounds, so I use digital tools to capture that feel while having complete control over the production.

A: Deliver music that feels polished, authentic, and true to your sound while giving you the best value for your money.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: What I enjoy most is turning an idea into something real. I love experimenting with sounds, playing different instruments, finding the right groove, and seeing a simple idea develop into a finished piece of music.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: I started my musical journey as a keyboardist, then expanded into guitar, bass, live drums, ukulele, and other instruments. Over time, I developed my skills in beat production, arrangement, recording, and mixing, working mainly across Afrobeats, Gospel, R&B, Soul, and Pop.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: I’d describe my style as groove-driven, musical, organic, and modern. I like combining live instrumentation with contemporary production, especially guitar, bass, African percussion, and programmed drums.

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: I’d love to work with Tems. I really admire her unique sound, vocal expression, and the way her music blends Afrobeats, R&B, soul, and atmospheric production while still feeling authentic and emotionally powerful.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: one well-placed guitar line or percussion part can have more impact than five layers fighting for attention. Space is part of the groove.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: Afrobeat, Afropop, Gospel, R&B, Soul, Pop hiphop, and contemporary instrumental music.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: My strongest skill is turning an idea into a musical, well-arranged instrumental with a strong groove. I have a good ear for rhythm, melody, guitar parts, sound selection, and arrangement, and I know how to make each element work together without overcrowding the song. I’m particularly strong at guitar parts, beat , beat recreation, drum programming, and adding organic African percussion to give a track its own character and feel.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: I bring musicality, groove, creativity, and a strong feel for what the song needs. I’m not just focused on adding more sounds, I focus on choosing the right parts that support the artist and make the song feel complete. My background in guitar, bass, African percussion, and modern music production allows me to bring both organic and contemporary elements to a track. I pay close attention to rhythm, tone, arrangement, and dynamics, while keeping the original vision of the artist at the centre. Most importantly, I bring a musician’s ear and a producer’s mindset knowing when to add something, when to simplify, and when to let the music breathe.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: I start by listening carefully to the client’s reference track, demo, or creative idea and discussing the direction, sound, and overall goal for the project. From there, I build the foundation of the instrumental, focusing on the groove, drums, bass, harmony, instrumentation, and arrangement. Depending on the project, I may record live guitar, bass, or African percussion to add a more natural and distinctive feel. I then develop and refine the production, paying attention to sound selection, dynamics, transitions, and overall musicality. Once the arrangement is where it needs to be, I mix and polish the track and provide the final stereo mix and stems when required. I value communication throughout the process and welcome feedback and revisions to make sure the final result matches the client’s vision.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: My studio is built around FL Studio on Mac, with a focus on instrumental production, guitar recording, beat recreation, arrangement, and mixing. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: I’m inspired by musicians and producers from a wide range of styles. For guitar, I’m influenced by Mateus Asato, Kerry2smooth, David Gilmour, and Mark Knopfler for their feel, tone, phrasing, and musicality. I’m also inspired by Nile Rodgers and Prince, as well as Afrobeat producers and artists such as Sarz, Pheelz, and Kel-P. From gospel music, I draw inspiration from producers and musicians such as Kirk Franklin, Israel Houghton, and Jonathan McReynolds.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: I most commonly work with artists and producers who need custom instrumental production, beat recreation, and arrangement. I can recreate an existing reference track or build an original instrumental from scratch, focusing on the groove, instrumentation, structure, and overall feel of the song. I also work on guitar parts, drum programming, sound selection, and mixing to help bring the instrumental to a polished, professional level.
