Hi there! I'm a singer, songwriter, and rapper specializing in R&B, Soul, and Hip-Hop. My passion lies in the golden era of music—think the soulful grooves of Motown, the slick beats of '90s hip-hop, and the timeless melodies of classic rock. I love bringing an authentic, old-school feel to new projects, whether it's through a smooth R&B hook, a gritty rap verse, or a full-fledged throwback track. My goal is to help you craft a song that feels both nostalgic and fresh, with a sound that truly stands out.

Interview with Keila Myles
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Honestly, I'm still relatively new here, so I'm not connected with anyone just yet. But the vibe here is incredible. Everyone is so talented and focused on their craft. I'm excited to discover new artists and maybe work with them in the future!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I'm a digital girl, but with an analog soul. I love the convenience and precision of digital recording—it lets me work fast and collaborate easily. But my style and my heart are all about that old-school analog warmth. So, I guess I'm a hybrid.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise is simple: I'll always prioritize your vision. I'm not just here to sing on a track; I'm here to collaborate and make something we're both obsessed with. I won't quit until we've got a song that feels authentic and sounds incredible.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love connecting with artists and helping them tell their stories. There's nothing better than hearing a finished song and knowing I helped bring that vision to life. It’s about creating something real and lasting with people from all over.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: The most common question I get is, "Can you match the vibe of this artist or song?" My answer is always yes. I've spent so long studying different styles and eras, I'm confident I can capture that specific feel you're going for while still bringing my own unique flavor. It's all about paying homage while creating something new.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: The biggest misconception is that it’s all glam and no work. People don’t see the hours of writing, the dozens of takes, the vocal warmups, and the late nights spent perfecting one single line. It's a hustle, for sure.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: My go-to questions are: What's the story behind this song? What's the vibe you're going for? Who are your artist references for this track? That way, I can make sure I'm bringing your vision to life from the jump.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Honestly, just trust your gut. Don't get hung up on all the credits; just listen to the audio samples. Find someone whose voice just hits different. And when you do, be super clear about your vision. Communication is key to making something epic.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Easy. My laptop with Logic, my main mic, a dope audio interface, my headphones, and a notepad. With those five things, I can literally make magic happen anywhere.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been on this journey since I was a kid. I started out writing songs in my bedroom and recording demos on GarageBand. Eventually, I started performing, networking, and getting serious about music. Now, I'm here doing what I love full-time and it's been a wild ride.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is a whole mood. It's vintage and textured. I take the rich, authentic sounds of the past and put a fresh spin on them. It's soulful, it's real, and it's guaranteed to be a classic.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would totally lose it if I could work with Anderson Paak. His work is just on another level. He's a master at crafting a whole mood, blending genres, and creating a sound that's so unique and emotional. It would be amazing to be in a session with him.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: My vibe is R&B, soul, and hip-hop, but I'm obsessed with classic sounds. If your track has a vintage old school feel—like it could have been on a '90s playlist or a Motown record—then we're basically a match made in heaven.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is definitely my range, no cap. One minute I'm singing a soulful R&B chorus, and the next I'm dropping a rap verse. I've been working for years to be that artist who can literally do it all and give your song exactly what it needs.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I basically bring the feels. For me, music is all about the story and the vibe. I'm here to give your track a voice, whether it's with a smooth vocal, a fire rap verse, or just a melody that's so catchy it lives in your head rent-free.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to keep it pretty chill. First, I'll listen to the track and just let the ideas flow. I'll hum melodies into my phone and jot down lyrics in my notes app. Once I have a solid vision, I'll track the vocals, comp them, and add any ad-libs or harmonies to make it pop. Then I'll send it over for your approval!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My setup is super streamlined but gets the job done. I've got my laptop with Logic Pro, a killer mic (shout-out to the Rode NT1-A), and a solid audio interface. I keep my space pretty minimal to stay focused, so it’s all about creating good vibes and getting the best take.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Okay, this is a whole vibe. I'm endlessly inspired by the OGs who just did it differently. Think the effortless cool of artists like Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu. On the production side, I live for the work of legends like Timbaland and Pharrell who created iconic sounds that still slap today.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most of the time, I'm brought in to write and perform top-line vocals for tracks. That means I write the melody and lyrics for the chorus and verses, then record the lead vocals and all the harmonies. It's about taking a great beat and turning it into a complete song that feels authentic and hits just right.
