Interview with Sense True
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I’m currently working on my own artist project, aiming to become a DJ/producer. Even though it’s still early, hearing positive feedback from listeners motivates me and makes me proud of every track I create.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Right now, my artist career is on pause, so I’m focusing on music production and ghost production, while also working as a live sound engineer for local bands in my city.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I’m new to the platform, but as soon as I connect with other great professionals here, I’ll definitely share their work.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I prefer digital — it gives me access to countless analog emulations and the freedom to experiment constantly.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I’ll give my absolute best to your production, mixing, or mastering — and I’ll put real passion into it. I believe projects made with love and care always stand out.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The ability to create something from nothing. Music allows me to put emotions into sound, both in my own productions and in the tracks I make for clients. Seeing people connect with that feeling is priceless.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Most clients ask: “How long will it take?” My answer: “Depending on the complexity, anywhere from 3 to 7 days — but I always aim to deliver high-quality work as quickly as possible.”
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That music production isn’t a “real job” — even my mom sometimes jokes about that! 😅
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I usually ask things like: What’s the goal for your track? (club-ready, streaming, radio, etc.) Do you have reference tracks you’d like me to use as inspiration? Are there specific elements or instruments you want me to highlight? What’s the deadline and final format you need?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: I’ll listen carefully to your ideas, treat your project with full dedication, and make sure we find the best way to bring your vision to life.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A laptop, quality headphones, my go-to plugins, Ableton Live, and a microphone to capture natural island sounds.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I’ve been producing for about 5 years. I studied music at university, which gave me exposure to many styles and projects. While my artist career is on pause at the moment, I’m continuing as a producer and will return stronger as a performing artist in the future.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: A fusion of styles. My goal is to create tracks that you can enjoy during a road trip but also hear on a big festival stage.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Definitely John Summit. I’ve admired his work for years — his tracks are both simple and complex in all the right ways. Plus, his energy on stage and the happiness he spreads through music are truly inspiring.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Mixing is mostly about balance. You don’t need 20 plugins on every channel — often, it’s just about finding the right levels and letting the track breathe.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mostly electronic music (tech house, edm, house, melodic, drum & bass, etc.), but I also have a background in rock, pop-rock, indie, and pop thanks to my music degree, so I can adapt across genres.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My ability to learn quickly. It helps me adapt to different clients, understand their vision, and find solutions fast.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: For me, music is about connection and emotion. I always try to inject feeling into the track so it resonates with listeners on a deeper level.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: For productions, I usually start with the vocal idea and build the track around it. For mixing and mastering, I first identify the most important elements of the song and then balance everything else around them. Since I mix while I produce, my workflow is fast and efficient.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use a professional AKG headphone, which I find perfect for mixing since it allows me to work anywhere. My main DAW is Ableton Live, and I rely on top industry-standard plugins like Waves, FabFilter, and iZotope Ozone. I believe you don’t need a massive studio to create great music — just the right skills and vision.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I get a lot of inspiration from John Summit and Dom Dolla. Their sound blends club energy with a commercial touch, bringing the best of both worlds — and that balance helps me add even more emotion to my own productions.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I really enjoy being immersed in the electronic music world. Most of my work revolves around music production, which often includes mixing and mastering as well.
