Harry is a freelance bass player and composer from New Zealand, now based in London. He holds a Master of Musical Arts in Jazz Performance and Composition from the New Zealand School of Music (Victoria University of Wellington), completed in 2023. After building a strong reputation in New Zealand’s music scene, he relocated to London in 2025 to further his career internationally.
Harry has performed with a wide range of high-profile acts including Arjuna Oakes, TOI, Serebii, Wiri Donna, and Tahini Bikini. His own projects span genres—from the garage rock energy of F.A.I.R.Y, to the dance rhythms of Freq, and the experimental jazz big band Reject the Natural, Become Mechanical.
Known for his deep sense of groove and feel, Harry's bass playing combines rhythmic precision with melodic flair and a unique tonal palette. He specializes in funk, soul, R&B, rock, and jazz, but is comfortable in nearly any style. Beyond bass, he crafts distinctive synth sounds and ambient textures using effects pedals.

Endorse Harrison ScholesHarry is an amazing, creative bass player who I've had the pleasure of working with both live and in the studio. He has an incredible sense of groove and space, and always knows how to play the right part for the song. He's also a wizard at coming up with unique tones on his HX stomp, which can set your song apart from the rest. He played on most of the songs on my upcoming EP, and we've worked together on a number of other projects as well. Aside from that, he's easygoing and a great hang!
