Hi there! My name is Emmanuel, and I am a professional multi-instrumentalist, composer/writer, and educator now based in Charlotte, North Carolina. I'm open for session work (recordings for winds) collaborations (for mixing, composing and writing) Let's work!

Emmanuel Howard is a saxophonist based in Charlotte, North Carolina. He has studied music business at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and is finishing his master's degree at North Carolina Central University in jazz studies performance. Currently, he subs and plays with various groups in the North Carolina area, most notably Who's Bad: The Ultimate Michael Jackson Experience Tribute Band since the summer of 2024.

Currently he working on his first self-composed EP coming in 2026.

In addition to recording saxophones, Emmanuel plays the flutes and piano for certain tracks, as well as key bass.

Interview with Emmanuel Howard

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: My graduate recital, because I arranged mostly original tunes. Set to come in 2026

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Currently working on writing the music for a small musical adaptation that's to be announced sometime next year (2026) . Also working on the syncing for the music for the podcast "The Ray Gilbert Podcast", which is salted to premiere later in 2025.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Digital, just because I have a very simple set up, and I mix all my preamps and channels through the DAW. However I do still use an audio interface when recording analog sounds such as my saxes, flutes, guitars, or even bass.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: My promise I to create a product that you and I can both be proud of. Making sure to put a piece of ourselves in our music, giving the world a deeper insight to who we are as people, do the thing we love and do best, make music.

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  10. A: I am currently a gigging musician but I want to be working more along the lines of creating syncing material for programs on various platforms, including YouTube, TV, and video games.

  11. Q: How would you describe your style?

  12. A: Laid back, but with energy. I like create a musical world, no matter the genre or style.

  13. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  14. A: I'd love to work with Brian Culbertson, PJ Morten, Bruno Mars, just to name a few as these artist have inspired me musically in my musical development to this point.

  15. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  16. A: I typically work on instrumental songs, or vocal songs that require some horn features or lines.

  17. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  18. A: Foucusrite 2i2 Audio Technica AT-2000 Yamaha YAS-62III Yamaha YTS-23 M-Audio Keystation 61-keys Logic Pro X Ableton Live 12 Lite (for beat making)

  19. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  20. A: Jacob Collier (mixing matrix, and recording techniques) Stevie Wonder Prince

  21. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  22. A: Musical styles varying between pop, jazz, and soul. I also do Voiceover work, editing for podcasts or animation work.
