🎧 Mixing Engineer | 10+ Years Experience | Warm & Organic Sound

Hi! I'm a professional mixing engineer with over a decade of experience, dedicated to delivering clean, dynamic, and emotionally compelling mixes. While I work fully in-the-box, I know my tools deeply and use them with intention — so the result always sounds natural, balanced, and true to your vision.

My taste in production leans toward hip-hop, rock, and acoustic-influenced pop, often with a touch of lofi texture and warmth — and that aesthetic subtly informs the way I mix.

Want to hear how I work? I have several tracks available on SoundCloud — feel free to message me and I’ll send over some examples.
Let’s make your track sound like you — only better.

Interview with Dr. Shahin

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: One project I’m especially proud of is my own track called Akharin Shab (“The Last Night”). It tells the story of the final night before a permanent goodbye — a very personal song where I handled everything from writing to production to mixing.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Right now, I’m working on my own upcoming album and I’m putting everything into making it as strong and honest as possible.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I believe Mehrad Hidden is on SoundBetter. He’s been a big inspiration to me since I was a kid.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital, because it’s enough. Analog sounds amazing, no doubt, but with digital I can get great results efficiently. Honestly, I think the time and money saved with digital can be better invested into the creative process itself.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I promise to deliver something that will hold value for years to come — not just a trendy sound for the moment.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: Spending time creating music is what makes my life feel meaningful. Every project is a chance to build something that didn’t exist before.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Most people ask about the price and turnaround time. I always try to stay flexible and work something out that feels fair to both sides.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: The biggest issue I often face is the difference in priorities. I care about the music itself — the emotion, the story, the vibe — while some clients are just chasing whatever sound is trending right now.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I usually ask: How important is this release for you? Is it a personal project or do you have commercial goals? Do you have a financial plan around this track or is it purely passion-driven? When do you expect to receive the final version? Do you want modern loudness to compete with other songs or would you prefer more dynamics? Which instrument should be the main focus in the mix? If you could only listen to three songs for the rest of your life, what would they be?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Learn a bit about mixing and production — not so you can do everything yourself, but to help you better communicate your vision. It’ll help you understand exactly what you want and explain it clearly to whoever you work with.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Assuming I can’t pick a phone or a computer because they basically cover everything: Sunglasses My guitar A music player with a recorder Pen and paper Cigarettes

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I've been involved in music for about 10 years — since my early youth. I've had periods where I was deeply immersed in production and other times where I stepped back, but my passion for sound and attention to detail has always stayed with me.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: In production, my signature sound comes from writing strong bass lines and electric guitar parts. I love blending organic elements with modern production — always aiming to create something that feels both fresh and timeless.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I’d love to work with Mehrad Hidden and Amy Lee. They both write their own lyrics and their music feels raw and personal. I connect with artists who have a clear vision and aren’t afraid to tell their story through music.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: When you think something sounds good, stop tweaking. Take a break, clear your ears, and come back with fresh perspective. That’s when you’ll really hear if it holds up.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I mostly work in hip-hop and alternative pop. I love the blend of electronic textures and organic instruments — especially guitars. Whether it’s raw and stripped-back or layered and lush, I’m into music that feels alive.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: In mixing, my strongest skill is frequency separation and tonal correction without over-processing. I aim for clarity and punch, preserving the natural dynamics. In production, I’m all about harmony — building arrangements that support the vocal and story.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: Listeners often tell me that they feel something beyond just the lyrics in the music I work on. My goal is always to enhance the emotion and energy of the song through sound itself — to make it feel right, not just sound good.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: Once I get a project, I always ask the client for reference tracks and a few songs they personally love to listen to. Depending on the genre, I might also ask about the story or vision behind the song. I believe these details are crucial because a good mix should serve the identity of the track, not just sound “good” in a generic way.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I work in a compact but well-treated studio with accurate monitoring. My mixing setup is fully digital — I use Cubase as my main DAW along with industry-standard plugins from Waves and FabFilter. This allows me to stay flexible and efficient while delivering polished, professional results.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Mehrad Hidden and Amy Lee. Both write their own lyrics and have a deep connection to their music. I’m inspired by artists who stay authentic and tell honest stories through their sound.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I mostly work on mixing and production, helping artists enhance their songs without losing their unique identity. Whether it’s a clean, punchy mix or full production with guitars and electronic textures, I focus on creating music that connects emotionally.
