Interview with Azur Quiétude
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: On the electro album "Une fois au master", I designed this project in order to tell a story and therefore create a distinct universe on the 18 tracks with a common link between them. I liked the result very much and it was very interesting to produce.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: On an indie electro project that has already advanced a little.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: No, I don't know anyone but there are many talents here.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both! In hybrid mode.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will make sure to be on time.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Bring my sensitivity.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: I don't know !
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I don't know !
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What emotion he seeks in their music.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: I'm not the best, but I'm going to apply myself as if it were my music.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A computer and a headset, that's all.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Since 2021 !
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Atypical, bizarre and childish.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I'm rather lonely!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: There are no rules in music, do what you love.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Right now it's electro.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I will say my vision of music, I dare without being afraid to try.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring my experience as a self-taught artist, so it's raw and unconventional. I've never set myself any limits, which makes my mixes very atypical.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First, I'll control the frequencies, cleaning or boosting the most harmonious ones. Then, I'll apply several layers of subtle saturation and compression to achieve a colorful and controlled final result.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a rather simple but very effective home studio, everything is optimized and goes to the essentials so as not to get lost with too many choices for mixing decisions.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am inspired by Renaud, blink 182 and David Guetta, but I have kept my musical colors because I copy very little of my references.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mainly produce mastering, where I add my coloring and optimize for a compliant final result.
