Interview with Jared Osorio
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to treat your vocals with the same care and precision I would give my own. Every note I correct is done by ear, not by guesswork — guided by perfect pitch and a deep respect for your artistic intent. You’ll get tuning that sounds natural, emotional, and completely true to your voice. No robotic artifacts, no over-processing — just clean, expressive vocals that feel as good as they sound. I’m here to help you sound your best, without losing what makes your performance uniquely yours.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: One of the most common questions I get is: “Will my vocals still sound like me after tuning?” My answer: Absolutely. I use manual pitch correction guided by perfect pitch, which means I adjust notes just enough to bring them into key without flattening out the character, tone, or emotion of the performance. My goal is always to enhance, not erase. I also get asked whether I can work without a reference key — and the answer is yes. Thanks to my ear training and perfect pitch, I can identify the key instantly and tune accurately even without notation or stems.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I always start by asking what level of tuning they’re looking for — subtle correction to clean things up, or more noticeable polish for a pop-ready sound. I also ask if they have a reference track or specific vibe they’re aiming for, and whether they want me to preserve stylistic elements like vibrato, runs, or natural imperfections. Knowing the key of the song (if they have it) is helpful, but I can also identify it myself. Lastly, I ask about file format and delivery needs, so I can make sure everything’s clean, aligned, and ready for mix.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Look for someone who tunes with their ears, not just their eyes. Great vocal tuning isn’t about snapping everything to a grid — it’s about preserving emotion while fixing what holds the performance back. Ask your provider how they approach subtle pitch correction and whether they work manually or rely on presets. If you want your vocals to sound natural, expressive, and truly in key, you need someone with a trained ear — or in my case, perfect pitch — who understands both technical precision and musical feel.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My process begins with carefully listening to the vocal track to understand the singer’s tone, phrasing, and emotional delivery. From there, I use tools like Melodyne to make manual pitch adjustments by ear, guided by my perfect pitch rather than relying solely on visual pitch maps or auto-correction. I focus on preserving the vocal’s natural expression while ensuring every note is in tune and every phrase sits confidently in the key. Once tuning is complete, I clean up any artifacts and deliver polished, mix-ready files. Throughout the process, I maintain clear communication with the client to make sure their vision is fully realized.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I specialize in manual vocal tuning and pitch correction, helping artists achieve clean, expressive vocals that stay true to their original performance. Most clients come to me with raw vocal tracks that need subtle, natural tuning — not robotic auto-tune, but precise, musical correction. Using my perfect pitch, I fine-tune every phrase by ear to ensure that the final product sounds professional, emotionally authentic, and ready for mixing. Whether it’s a single lead vocal or full harmonies and doubles, I deliver mix-ready vocals with accuracy and care
