Just Hear Audio is a mixing and audio mastering studio run by Richard Zagiba (Ri Za / Just Hear).

Richard is also a respected music producer of electronic music focusing mostly on deep / tech / progressive house, but also on ambient / electronica genres.

With plenty of experience in the studio, he is an audio mastering guru for many known labels, such as Media Blackout, 238 West, Reworck, Symmetric, We Are The Underground, Tulipa and many more. He has also mastered music for artists like Dark Soul Project, Alejandro Manso, Dmitry from Amsterdam, Pole Folder, Shai T, Moon Pollen, Second Element, AG and many others.

  1. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  2. A: mixing, mastering, production, ghost production, beat making

  3. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  4. A: Radiohead, Bjork, Sasha, Apparat...

  5. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  6. A: working mostly with analogue gear, in mastering using SSL G compressors and Pultec tube EQ and UAD plugins. With mixing using also Distressor and Strymon BigSky reverb and tons of UAD plugins. Working 95% with UAD only as they are the best on the market.

  7. Q: What's your typical work process?

  8. A: depends on a work I am doing. but when I do mixing I am not doing mastering and opposite. The same with writing / producing music.

  9. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  10. A: feelings

  11. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  12. A: production, mixing, mastering.

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: depends. but mostly an electronic music.

  15. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  16. A: less is more :)

  17. Q: How would you describe your style?

  18. A: powerful, strong, bright, sometimes dirty everything depends on what I want to achieve

  19. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  20. A: I am doing this for 5 years, but I have made music even at age 10 on Atari 800 XE.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: UAD, RME soundcard, Poly Evolver, Prophet 6 and Moog Voyager

  23. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  24. A: I want to make customers happy so I am asking them what is their imagination, what they want, to describe the most.

  25. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  26. A: creativity

  28. A: i can promise to deliver what they want (in terms of possibilities).

  30. A: analog and digital :) why? good to combine.
