Interview with David Urresta
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: G46, a producer friend of mine in Full Sail University, created an album that is on Soundcloud and his music on the album is great! My role on the album was listed as an engineer. I was a Recording, Mixing and Mastering Engineer for the album.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am working on an album with an artist named Xay, and the track list so far is incredible.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: N/A
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Why not both? But digital is probably the way to go since many analog gear is being converted to digital recently.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: The song you send me will have the highest quality and I make sure that you are happy with the result. If you run into any problems, address them to me and I will happily fix all those issues for free!
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I have multiple artist that I dream to work with! 1. The Weeknd - because who wouldn't want to work with him 2. Travis Scott - his music is always different and his vocals effects are out of this world. 3. Kendrick Lamar - the king of vocal effects!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Remove around 30htz from all instrumentation in an EQ to remove any muddy low end and clean a mix up.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hip Hop and EDM but I've recorded many different genres for different artist.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Cooperating with the artist to finish the song and have it sound polished
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My creativity to find ways to enhance the track.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Quick and simple. As long as the song is at it's full potential and the artist is happy then thats all that matters.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a scarlet interface, BX5 monitors, and a pair of cheap speakers for final mixing.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Mixed by Ali is my inspiration and always will be.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
