Interview with Peter Choi
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm currently working on a hybrid electronic-acoustic EP titled 'Acoustic Aspirations,' set to release on May 1. I'm also working on short-form linear sound design pieces for my portfolio.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital - these days digital emulations sound competitive to their analog counterparts, but have the added benefit of easy recall. If I need to go back in and adjust a mix for you, or tweak a part, it's much easier to have it in my DAW than having to reset physical knobs and dials.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Since everything has become pop-adjacent nowadays (or, rather, pop has borrowed aesthetics from many other genres) I would say pop, but ranging from singer-songwriter to EDM.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I would say my strongest skill is melody writing - which I would also argue is the most important aspect of songwriting.
