Indi on SoundBetter

I'm a hungry songwriter with a sharp pen and a passion for turning real-life into lyrics. I may not have major credits (yet), but I bring originality, consistency, and the vulnerability every time I touch a track. Whether you need hard verses, punchline-heavy bars, or hooks that stick, I’ve got you!

- Full song lyrics (16s, 8s, 12s)
- Hooks (catchy, street, melodic, or commercial)

Interview with Indi

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: Starting a label, managing newer artists. And getting my name out there as a songwriter.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: I don't make promises. We talk, and come to agreements.

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: That I get to do something I love every single day. At that point, it doesn't feel like work.

  7. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  8. A: That just because we want to get paid for what we do, we don't love it. A lot of artists say "I don't do it for the money" and I believe (2) things can be true at once: You can be passionate about something and still need to survive.

  9. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  10. A: What exactly are you looking for? What's the deadline? Do you have anything else I can listen to, so that I can match your style? Would you rather in person at a studio working together, or do you want me to work and send demos?

  11. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  12. A: Hold people accountable and don't let anybody play with your time. The first time a deadline or promise is broken, move on to the next. It pays to be strict and intentional on what you want in this industry.

  13. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  14. A: I was in sales for a while, but music is my passion. I have been rapping for 10+ years, I am now wanting to manage artist and write music.

  15. Q: How would you describe your style?

  16. A: Laid back. Not aggressive, not weak either. Just laid back and doing what I love.

  17. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  18. A: Lauryn Hill, I want to understand how she poured her emotions on tracks so unapologetically. I want to see what we would create together.

  19. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  20. A: Don't force anything. If nothing is coming to you, find a way to reset (a walk, gym, hobby). Take as long as it takes, you can't rush the process of timeless music.

  21. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  22. A: Hip hop and R&B. Starting to venture into more Country.

  23. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  24. A: Writing. I am a pure songwriter. I love to do it.

  25. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  26. A: Honesty, vulnerability, things people can relate to. I think a lot of artist forget that people have bad days too, we get so much music now days that talk about getting money, and having women, and power. What do people listen to when they're having real life struggles? I bring experiences that people can relate to.

  27. Q: What's your typical work process?

  28. A: Receive the beats, sit on them, and then write. I also like to go in the studio, turn on some beats and just go. But for my more storytelling, and vulnerable music I have to sit with the beat and myself before entering the studio.

  29. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  30. A: Currently working out of a studio in Glendale, CA. I have my own equipment at home, but I wouldn't call it a full studio. I venture and work with studios all around Los Angeles.

  31. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  32. A: Eminem, I love his honesty. Lil Wayne, I love how he puts his words together. Jay-Z, he makes all around great music. Kendrick, inspired me on a whole different level, more spiritual.

  33. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  34. A: Songwriting and Feautures. Mostly rap music, storytelling.
