Lazy Keys (aka Matthew Shaffner) is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and engineer with a background in a wide array of genres including Indie/Alternative Rock, Hip Hop, RnB, Funk, Disco, and more. His vocal style is very powerful and was derived from such inspirations as Muse, Coldplay, New Politics, Cold War Kids, and Mutemath.

Services offered include: all inclusive top-line and complimentary vocal writer and performer, mixing and mastering engineer, music producer, and session pianist in jazz and pop genres. Having studied piano, music theory, composition, and music production at many levels, Lazy Keys has developed a mastery in intentionally conveying emotion through melody with precision and skill while still maintaining a creative and fresh approach. Keys is consistently listening to new music and relating what he hears back to the classical fundamentals of music creation learned through his years of experience which enables him to not only adapt to changing genres but also to instill creative and new dynamics to existing styles. With access to and proficiency in ProTools, Logic, and Ableton, Matthew uses the UAD Apollo as an interface, the AKG 414 condenser mic, and KRK Rokkit 6 monitors to achieve the best possible sound quality, tailoring his unique but versatile sound to complement your project. Keys has been performing and creating music for over 15 years and has the experience and know-how to record, mix, and package each project with care.
