Former Bad Wolves bassist (2017–2025), with multiple Gold & Platinum records. Dingwall Signature Artist. Toured globally and worked with legends like Joey Jordison & Devin Townsend. Tight groove, fast riffs. Let’s make something heavy or groovy!

Looking for solid, high-energy bass tracks? I’ve got you covered across rock, pop, and metal genres. Whether you need tight, machine-gun style riffs at 250 BPM or something more technical and aggressive like tech death—I can deliver.

If you’re after groove and feel, I’ve got a strong swing and deep pocket, perfect for tracks that just need the right foundation to shine.

You’ll get both the clean DI and the amp tones I used, so you can mix and match however you like.

Basses are Dingwall KK3 ( V1 and V2 ) and Dingwall custom Super J bass

Interview with Kyle Konkiel

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: It’s a secret

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: Digital has come such a long way over the last 20 years. I really couldn’t see doing it any other way! There is a special craft that comes from analog and I can’t say anything bad about it.

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: I promise to deliver my best work, carefully crafting a product that showcases your song with accuracy and feeling, helping it stand out in a meaningful way.

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: “Playing bass and making music is my passion - it feels like my purpose in life.”

  9. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  10. A: Bass players often get overlooked in songwriting. Some think we just play the notes, but the truth is, our experience and instincts bring a vibe to the music that technology just can't replicate.

  11. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  12. A: What is the overall vision of your project? What type of turnaround do you need? Are you looking for specific play styles or gear?

  13. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  14. A: Please share your vision or expectations, no matter how small. I’d love to get it right the first time and ensure you’re thrilled with the outcome, rather than having to make revisions or disappoint you.

  15. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  16. A: Martin Acoustic guitar, Fender Jazz bass, my signature Dingwall bass, my 80’s Bc Rich gunslinger and a nice little combo amp.

  17. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  18. A: After 15+ years of touring, I’m back in the studio scene and looking to book some exciting sessions. Let’s make some music!

  19. Q: How would you describe your style?

  20. A: Punchy, locked-in, and tone-focused. Fast, clean lines with grit and clarity. Built for big energy and tight mixes across rock, metal, pop, and electronic

  21. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  22. A: Rob Caggiano’s production might hit even harder than his playing. Dude’s a tone wizard. Total inspiration

  23. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  24. A: When going for an aggressive, high-energy bass tone—especially in rock, pop, or metal—don’t be afraid to push distortion, but always carve space for the low end. Use parallel processing: split your signal, distort the mid/highs, and keep a clean low-end foundation

  25. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  26. A: Hard Rock, Metal, Pop, Rock, Synthwave, Darkwave, Industrial

  27. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  28. A: My style blends aggressive pick attack and distortion without sacrificing low-end clarity. I lock in fast, clean performances that match the kick with precision—bringing power and punch while keeping everything tight in the pocket

  29. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  30. A: Known for high-energy, consistent performances with a rock-solid pocket and an obsessive attention to detail. Whether live or in the studio, I bring intensity, precision, and feel to every track

  31. Q: What's your typical work process?

  32. A: I like to start by listening closely to the song and visualizing how I can help it come to life. From there, I learn the track inside and out, then explore a few different bass options to find what best elevates the vibe and energy of the music

  33. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  34. A: Tiny but mighty! These days, it’s not about having a massive rig—it’s about knowing how to get the most out of your gear. I’m a Dingwall signature artist, fluent in both Ableton and Logic. My setup includes Black Lion Audio interfaces, BeyerDynamic headphones, and a combination of JBL and Kali monitors for clean, reliable mixes

  35. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  36. A: Max Martin, Dan Hughes, Devin Townsend, Rob Caggiano

  37. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  38. A: Whether it’s writing or performing bass lines, I specialize in rock, pop, and metal—but I also produce and write electronic music. Versatility and vibe are always the priority
