Frank Ocean-esque alternative R&B songwriter with a few recorded songs for reference and dozens of written demos for sale.
Hello, I'm a black 28-year-old alternative R&B singer-songwriter from sunny South Africa. My journey into songwriting started as a passion for poetry and storytelling but changed when I heard the life-changing sounds of legends like James Fauntleroy, Stevie Wonder and Frank Ocean. I fell in love with their blend of silky sonics and musical storytelling and decided to try my hand in it. It's been 8 years since I wrote my first song and I've been going strong ever since with almost 100 songs written to date. I specialise in musical storytelling but also appreciate more traditional songwriting as long as it has a strong emotional base and honest and/or clever lyrics.

Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I would do it for free.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: It's hard.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: How do you want the listener to feel?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be prepared to be vulnerable
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Emotionally resonant, clever and honest.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I just want to be in the room while Frank Ocean works and try not to melt into the floor.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: You can't make anyone feel something you didn't feel when recording so lead with authenticity.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Anything that feels good to me really but alr R&B is my mainstay.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My storytelling
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Whatever it needs. I ask myself what the song wants to be and play my part.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It always starts with the beat, it needs a certain x factor, then I identify the emotion it evokes in me, think of a time I felt it strongly, then imagine other situations that could bring about the same emotion, choose a scenario, create complex characters in my head based on real people and try and predict how they would feel and respond to the scenario. From there it's about getting out of the way and letting the lyrics write themselves.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Frank Ocean
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Songwriting
