Interview with PerilloWill
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work from a well-treated home studio built inside a converted warehouse space. My setup includes an SSL2+ audio interface, Audio-Technica headphones, Akai MPK Mini, and KRK 5 monitors, all running through an Acer Nitro V 15 laptop with Ableton Live. My plugin chain features FabFilter, Soundtoys, Waves, Antares, iZotope, and others — all optimized for vocal clarity, punch, and loudness.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspired by Brazilian artists like Orochi, Filipe Ret, Cabelinho, and Matuê — they each bring unique energy and identity to their sound. Internationally, I admire Travis Scott and Drake for their sonic textures and emotional balance. On the production side, I follow Brazilian producers like 2F, Dallas, Ajaxx, and Drakos, whose work reflects the rawness and bounce I aim for. Metro Boomin is another key influence, especially in terms of low-end control and atmosphere.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I specialize in mixing and mastering vocals for trap, trapfunk, drill, and R&B — especially tracks with strong identity and emotional impact. I work with independent artists who want their voice to cut through the mix while preserving vibe and energy. I also handle full productions from beat to final master.
