Interview with Summer Bowden

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I’ve helped people write songs or raps, but the ones I’m always most proud of are the ones that I do for myself - it brings a different level or reward and joy when it’s yours and yours to keep

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Personal music, I’m also helping a couple of small bands integrate some different styles into their song for better reach for their target audience

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Unfortunately mot

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Either or not fussy

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: My promise to you is that you will be fully satisfied with my services and we will not complete them until all parties are happy

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: The fact it doesn’t feel like a job or a chore - this is my PASSION through and through in every lifetime

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: They commonly ask about previous work, to which I show them personal songs I’ve made in certain timeframes - they always leave impressed

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That it’s a waste of my talent - I like to see it as me sharing my talent with those who need it

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What is the main thing you look for in a song? What does this mean to you? Is it personal or are we planning to scale?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: My advice would be to understand that whilst I’m starting out - I’ve also been doing this for years - I have the experience that most don’t have until they decide to do music full time - and I have the resilliancw ti keep going - the ability to tweak if needed - we don’t leave until YOU are happy

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Notepad, pen, guitar, food, water -

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I’ve been writing music since I can remember - I still remember songs I wrote when I was 7 in my massive pink notebook, and I still think it could be a hit, in terms of monetising my skill this is the first time as until now I liked to keep my music personal - as it is my therapy- it feels weird to share my therapy sessions with the world - but what’s more stupid is hiding the talent behind it - enough is enough - I start today!

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: My style varies depending on what I’m going through - for me music is my therapy - so when I write - the product is largely based on where my head is mentally - but I have the skill to put myself into certain mindsets to achieve the style I want for that particular song

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Honestly alive or dead it would be amy winehouse, we’d get along I know it, her personality shines through her songs and I know mine does as well. But to be more realistic I would really love to work with Emma Nissan, or skye Newman, both new artists but the vibe is similar- we could make good music

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Never leave it if your not 100% happy. It’s YOUR work YOUR noise, YOU decide when it’s done and your happy.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: All types I don’t like to be tied down to a certain genre
