Interview with FATAL AUDIO - Seifner Marvin

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: Projects with Klangkarussell and my solo project releasing on Super Flu's Label "Monaberry"

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: analog sound sourcing, analog-digital hybrid processing and Mixing.

  5. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  6. A: "Can you fix my recording in the mix?"

  7. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  8. A: communication is key

  9. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  10. A: depends on how big the suitcase is

  11. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  12. A: I started my career as a draftsman but music was always my real path. After years of producing on the side, releasing music with projects like SIN and collaborating with artists like Klangkarussell, I finally went full-time with my own company, Fatal Audio. Since then, I’ve worked across genres... producing, mixing, and mastering for artists in Europe and beyond. I’ve played live and DJ gigs in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, and now I offer professional audio services to help other artists finish and release music that actually hits. This isn’t just work for me - it’s what I do day in, day out. Music is my lane, and I’m here to help others sound their best.

  13. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  14. A: Know when the song is done. Don't overproduce

  15. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  16. A: I bring a mix of technical precision and emotional instinct. I don’t just make things sound “clean”. I make sure they feel right. Whether it’s adding subtle textures, tightening the groove, or pushing a hook to shine, I focus on what gives the song character and impact. My background as a producer, DJ, and mixing engineer lets me approach tracks from both, the club and streaming angle.

  17. Q: What's your typical work process?

  18. A: My process always starts with listening.. to the track, the references, and the artist’s vision. Whether I’m starting from a rough idea or jumping into a nearly finished project, I like to identify what the track really needs: energy, emotion, clarity, or punch. From there, I build or refine the arrangement, dial in the sound design, and make sure the groove hits right. Mixing is where I get surgical. Cleaning up frequencies, leveling, and adding movement with FX. If I’m mastering, it’s all about loudness without killing the dynamics. Communication is key.

  19. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  20. A: I work out of a professionally treated studio in Vienna, equipped for both creative flow and high-end precision. My main DAW is Ableton Live, running on a Mac Studio M2 Ultra. The gear i use the most is: SSL analog-hybrid Setup. Moog Sub37, Moog Mother-32, OP-1, Roland JX-3P, MFB Tanzbär, Prophet Rev2 16

  21. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  22. A: Most of my clients come to me for finishing their tracks - whether it's producing around a rough idea, cleaning up vocals, or giving the song that final polish. I specialize in producing and mixing electronic music (Afro House, Melodic Techno, Pop, etc.), often combining tight low-end with emotional dynamics. A lot of people also hire me as a ghost producer or co-producer when they have a strong vision but need someone to bring it to life on a professional level.
