Interview with Goran Gajic

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I’m especially proud of my latest dark trap album because I managed to blend different musical genres and express deep emotions through both lyrics and sound. I was the creator of the entire concept – from writing lyrics, through production, to the final mix. This project reflects my personal growth and artistic freedom, which makes it very meaningful to me.I’m also very satisfied with my previous album, “Hood Chronicle,” especially because I managed to deliver each song the way I wanted and keep the album consistent. You can find one track, “Urban Wild2,” on my profile, and soon I’ll be adding more material so you can get to know my work better.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Right now, I’m working on a conceptual dark trap album that blends various styles and sounds. This project is a big creative adventure for me, and I’m enjoying every step of the process. I’m also working on film soundtracks, which is the direction I’m going in – music for commercial media.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: There are many talented professionals on SoundBetter whom I follow and respect. If you're looking for quality collaboration, I’m happy to recommend those I’ve worked with personally and who have shown professionalism and creativity.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: I use both analog and digital approaches because each has its advantages. Analog sound brings warmth and depth that add unique character, while digital tools offer precision and flexibility in production. Combining both gives me the freedom to create exactly the sound I want.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I promise full dedication, honest communication, and quality that exceeds expectations. Your music matters, and I will give my all to make every project sound authentic and powerful.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: What I like most is being able to express my creativity and help others turn their ideas into reality. Every song is a new story and challenge, and the satisfaction when a client loves the result is priceless.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: The most common questions are: “How long will the process take?”, “Can I make changes after it's finished?”, and “How can I be sure the song will sound the way I want?” My answer is that the process is transparent, and I always allow two free revisions to make sure we get the best possible result together. Also, I focus on understanding the client’s vision from the start because communication is key to success.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: The biggest misconception is that many think my job is just "pushing buttons" or "recording songs." In reality, there's a lot of creative work, passion, and technical knowledge behind it. Every song is a story I carefully build, not just a sound that happens by chance.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I usually ask clients what exactly they want to achieve with their project, what their vision is, and which style they prefer. It’s important for me to understand their deadlines, budget, and how involved they want to be in the process. I also like to know what they like and dislike, so I can tailor my work and create something special together.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: My advice is to look for someone who not only has the technical skills but also understands your vision and can add a personal touch to the project. It’s important that your collaborator is transparent, communicative, and willing to adapt their work to your needs. Don’t hesitate to ask questions and request examples of previous work before making your decision.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: On a desert island, no matter the circumstances, I'd take my laptop with all the software, a solid audio interface, quality headphones, a MIDI controller, and a microphone. These are my essential tools for production

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I started a few years ago as an amateur, exploring various musical styles and refining my production techniques. Over time, I gained experience and have been professionally creating and producing music for several years now, constantly learning and evolving.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: My style is a unique blend of metal and rap, with a strong East Coast gangsta vibe. I like to experiment with fusions while keeping the authenticity of each genre intact. It’s raw, emotional, and real — always aiming to tell a story that connects deeply with listeners.Sometimes I’m pulled toward pure, raw rap, other times I dive into heavy metal. I also like to play around with other genres, mostly within the hard rock spectrum. These styles shape me on the albums I create, but I’m open to almost all genres—except a few that I just don’t feel connected to. When that happens, I’m honest with the client. I don’t usually refuse work, but it’s rare. Generally, I cover a wide range of genres and deliver quality and originality, even when stepping outside my personal preferences.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I like working with artists who are authentic and have their own story to tell. I especially want to collaborate with someone from the hip-hop or metal scene because I enjoy blending those genres in my work. Working with someone who is not only talented but also passionate about their craft always brings out the best results.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Sure! One tip I always follow is to focus on the space in your mix — don’t overcrowd frequencies. Leave room for each instrument to breathe, so the final track sounds clear and balanced. Sometimes less is more!

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I usually work on music that blends metal and rap, especially dark trap and East Coast gangsta styles. I love experimenting with genre fusions while keeping the authentic vibe intact, creating powerful, raw, and emotional tracks that stand out.I also create film background music, where energy and tension are essential. Regardless of my personal tastes, I always push beyond my comfort zone because I enjoy challenges — and it usually pays off. Right now, I’m working on a dark trap album, a unique but powerful fusion. This new genre experiment turned out really well — what started as a test feels like a masterpiece. It will be released here soon, and honestly, I can’t wait to hear the reactions from people on the platform.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: My strongest skill is storytelling through music. I have a knack for crafting lyrics and sounds that not only catch attention but also evoke genuine emotions and connect deeply with listeners. It’s about turning ideas into powerful, memorable experiences that stay with you long after the song ends.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I don’t want my song to be just a mix of words and sounds — it has to be a story, honest and deep, no matter the topic. I bring life and sincerity into every line. Sometimes, I like to play with words in a way that makes the listener think, to give the lyrics a new meaning or perspective. To me, that’s art — art that creates a real connection and interaction with the audience.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: It all starts with a moment that hits me unexpectedly — an emotion, a memory, or an event that won’t let go. That’s when I build the core, the skeleton of the lyrics pulsing with energy from inside. Every word is carefully chosen, often reworked, to avoid empty phrases and instead paint a vivid feeling or image. I play with metaphors and rhythm, searching for expressions that strike straight to the heart, steering clear of clichés. Then I shape the sound, layer by layer, until the track gets that elusive X factor — the spark that lifts it from ordinary to art.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: My studio combines top software tools with carefully chosen hardware to maximize creativity. I use Ableton as my main DAW, complemented by mixing and mastering plugins like FabFilter and iZotope Ozone. Everything is optimized to quickly and efficiently turn ideas into finished tracks.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I love blending my two favorite genres, metal and rap, playing with those fusions while keeping the authenticity of the style, especially the East Coast gangsta vibe. If I had to name one artist who inspires me, it would be 50 Cent. When it comes to metal, I can’t pick just one—I respect many artists in that scene.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I mostly work on full song creation — from writing lyrics, through production and arrangement, to mixing and mastering. I help clients turn their ideas into professional and authentic music products.

I’m working on a conceptual album blending dark trap and IDN lo-fi loops. I feel like I’ve pushed my limits, especially with the noise and atmosphere in the lyrics. If you’re into raw, intense music, check my demos and visit www.mdsoundpro.com. Next, I’ll post lyrics for the title track and “Glass God.”
